This is where i think they'll eventually start to come unstuck. When they need to shift deadwood on big contracts.

I think we all said that when they went through that silly spell signing them all.

Must be nice being able to spend without restriction.

While they are stockpiling an impressive collection of top class players, you can imagine it can't be much good for building team spirit. Some of their players like Madueke have already been accused of taking their foot off the gas. I know some managers specifically don't like having large squads because it can affect the unity of the camp.

There's talk they'll get a points deduction this season.

Was the same talk last season. They sold hotels to themselves, and kept the profit from them.

That Chairman of theirs won't want to lose face, he'd rather sell to another team at a lower price than sell to us

Cuckold Palace love their Cartel favourites too much to flog to us.

Honestly not arsed.

I thought during the summer that we were overpaying for someone who’s probably only really going through a purple patch.

£60m-£70m is too much to be spending when we arguably have bigger weaknesses elsewhere in our first 11, and certainly in our squad depth.

If he goes back to Chelsea, then more fool him, they only want him back to sell him on for more profit, and in the meantime he’s probably going to go 12/18/24 months without much football.

If they sign him then we should potentially be looking at the young lad they had who debuted at the weekend. Once Fofana is back at end of season he’d be shunted to 4th choice at best and may be available for a reasonable fee. I know he’s signed a new contract, but so did Hall before we signed him and we might be able to get another loan with obligation type deal to phase him in next season.

edit: maybe not, shows a chronic lack of research on my part, he’s primarily a right back and was played out of position

Their rat faced owner dropping the price like a used car salesman at a dodgy knackers yard.

Reports of our scouts at the Portuguese League Cup game to watch Sporting's Ousmane Diomande - 21-year-old CB, huge physical player who tackles high up the pitch and is a superb passer of the ball - almost like a hybrid of Botman and Schar. Really hope we're in for him instead of going back to Guehi.

Would he even get in our team at the moment?  be 4th choice now Botman is back.

What sort of money would it take to get him ? sounds like a better option now we have a really solid cover

He looked horrendous against Arsenal, I thought.  But that is only one game.

Sporting's Ousmane Diomande

We were linked with him last summer. We should have quit Guehi and brought him in cheap to learn behind Schär. There was another young rcb that looked even better. Italian or playing in Serie A. Can't remember his name.

Scalvini. Just come back from a long term injury and then got injured again.

These young options are better value than Guehi.

That's the name thanks. I seem to recall liking him more but the injury news changes that a bit.
