that’s a proper “we tried” bid from the spurs board, isn’t it. No way are Palace accepting a bid this late, especially when they lost Chalobah this month too.

Rice didn't have one year left, he had one with WHU having an option to extend by another year, which is effectively two years in terms of negotiation. There was also a very unique market demand around that position at that particular time.

There's no way Guehi goes for anything near what they have been offered last summer unless he signs a new deal.

I wonder if we have another go in the summer.

Hope not, I think there's better options out there. But if we do I hope it's for a fraction of the price of what we were offering last year.

Seems like there'll be competition for him in the summer, with Spurs and Chelsea having also expressed an interest. Also saw something about Liverpool maybe wanting him. He's not worth a bidding war, we're better off finding someone from the continent.

I was all for signing him in the summer and still think he would be a good addition, however, given PSR restrictions and the price that Palace seem to be looking for I think we can find better value elsewhere.

It will be close to £70m again.

Declan Rice was sold for £100m with 1 year left on his contract iirc

I think so too - several clubs seem to be after him

Can't see him going for that at all in the summer.  If he does, then I very much doubt we'd still be interested and nor should we be.

He wasn't worth that when he had 2 years left on his deal.  So with 12 months left, I don't see how he is going to cost £70 million.
