Shola - 13 years

53 goals in 312 appearances. 10 of them in the Championship.

13 years career as a front line striker for us.

Mindblowingly bad.

79 in total including 15 in Europe.

Honestly for all his critics he is exactly the type of 3rd choice striker we need right now.

I dunno...a 1 in 5 striker is absolutely not the type of 3rd striker we need right now, I don't think.

500 games.

He was sub for most of them ?

Don't have the exact state but he got far more starts than he deserved. But isn't that proof enough that he wasn't good enough for us...or anyone?

Never going to say Shola was the worst player at the club. My hope was he could pull off a 9 goal season every year due to his limitations but injuries got in the way. Either way, he should have been shifted in 2010. He was never going to live up to it.

I think we can go as far as a shite eleven here:

Martin Thomas

Marc Hottiger

Carl Serrant

Chis Hedworth

Claudio Cacapa

'Ron' Germei

Des Hamilton

Fumaca

Kenedy

Riviere

Rob McDonald

Thauvin over Kenedy. kenedy had a stinker v Cardiff but his first loan spell with us was canny.

Didn’t mind Marc Hottiger, seems a bit harsh to include him. Played full season for Keegan and only sold as we had spent big on Warren Barton. 60+ caps for Switzerland, some during his time with us, and five international goals; definitely could play.

Boumsong was a joke as well mind moreso considering the fee

Allegedly Robson turned down the chance to sign him for free in the summer.

Jeff Wrightson made his debut in a 4-0 home battering by Everton (I was there) They had a great team at the time.

Terry Wilson  - got hooked at HT in KK's first game as boss - 3-0 win at home to Bristol City.

Alan Smith's 20 minute cameo against WBA.

3-1 up and i've never seen a player so negatively effect a midfield before or since.

Ended up 3-3 and it still sticks in my throat that he was on 60k a week.

Alan Smith

His performance against Stevenage in the FA Cup was possibly the worst I can remember.  Playing against players from two or three divisions below us and he looked like the worst player on the pitch.  Couldn't complete a pass to a teammate standing 5 metres away.

Woeful player.

Nicky Butt A to Sheff Weds - I’ll never forget it - regardless of THAT bicycle kick it was one of the worst performances ever seen by a footballer

Often think about that cup win at Ewood Park.
