Prediction time, do we reckon we go higher or will we move on?

We will go to 50 imo. Personally think this gets done eventually. (Thought the same with Guehi last summer mind  )

Plus add ons, aye.

Sounds reasonable, I could see that happening.

I think he's a decent player and has something to add, my bug bear with this is more to the fact we could have just bought him when forest did instead of being mugged off a couple of seasons later.

I think we’ve got a decent chance of getting him but Forest aren’t exactly going to just hand him over are they. As someone above has said it’ll probably be 50m+. I’d probably prefer Kudus for that type of money.

The thing is if we’re genuinely interested in him then a) you get a signal from the player that he’s interested and b) if the club is a willing seller and a ball park price then you negotiate. They must have an idea what they’d have to go to to get him? Obviously Parish wouldn’t budge on Guehi last summer but I hope we either offer close to what they actually want or just say “no, sorry that’s too much” and move on”. Im making it out to be far more simplistic but just making a point. If we go after premier league players, if that’s what Howe wants we’re going to have to pay the transfer fees and wages. But it does leave us open to these drawn out situations.

I am predicting we will get this done by overpaying sth like 55m

55m in today’s market isn’t overpaying. I keep reading this, but you have absolutely bang average players in both the PL and abroad being valued at 35m-40m.

Would be happy if he signs and he’s been effective for Forest but from what I’ve seen he needs space to run into like Gordon.

We need some players who can play against low blocks with a killer pass, 1-2s around the box or can dribble (not kick and run but more Ben Arfa type dribbler). I guess the Joao Pedro interest could be to cover that.

People are also forgetting we've a large sell-on clause, likely to be 20% of the profit. Forest are going to factor that in.

Even they sell for £60m, we get £9m of it.

People love ideal values that don’t actually exist. You’re worth what someone is willing to pay and what someone is willing to sell for.

He’s had a great season for a team that only missed out on CL on the final day, he’s 22 and has already improved massively from a few years ago. That they want a decent wedge for him is perfectly fair.

I think this gets done for 50 or so with Add ons if we make the CL again.

I was really impressed with what I saw from him last season. A much higher ceiling than Murphy, considering his age and (if he joins), coached the fuck out of.

Trust in the man who brought us back from the brink and disrupted the elite on the pitch.

Nowhere near good enough for some of the spoilt brats on here though!

How does that work for add-ons and performance clauses? Might be a good workaround for both clubs?
