It's better to get our bids in and rejected. Inevitably Spurs or Arsenal will come in if Chelsea don't, but at least it gets sorted one way or the other and we can move on.

Suspending my disbelief as it's Ryder, but £50m including add-ons seems low (relative to what Forest would want).

if the addons are 10 mill it might work

Got to be better value on the continent surely

In terms of players who have a high chance of hitting the ground running, probably not. Monaco want £60m minimum for Akliouche for example, who I do think would hit the ground running in the PL. There will of course be cheaper options who would require a longer bedding in period. Hard to say if those cheaper options would constitute better value though, because the premium for PL players is about reducing risk of the player not being able to cope in the PL.

Sense they're stringing is along like Palace did last summer. Not seeing any indication player is desperate for the move either? Forest don't need the cash, so can only see an obscene bid being accepted. Time to walk away and focus elsewhere.

If Elanga isn’t possible (right now it doesn’t sound like Forest are even naming a price), and we won’t shop abroad, then we may need to stick with Murphy.

I’ve been trying to think of a domestic alternative and all I could think of was McAtee. Elliott and Buonanotte aren’t wingers and likely won’t do a better job there than Murphy.

Should have walked away after the original bid (it's Ryder so take anything he says with a pinch of salt), as he isn't worth £45 million never mind anything more.

25/26 squad will be Osula as cover for Murphy, DCL as cover for Isak :fwap:

Fortunately Krafth is able to do a decent job during the periods Schar is knocked out.

Aren't we messing them about too though. They've said £60m+ by nearly every report going. They don't need to sell and yet we're going in with low bids we know will get rejected.

I don't see our logic.
