Mental Tonali still isn't starting by the way

Good enough to be the star player for Champions League semi-finalists AC Milan, not good enough to start for us after 18 months. I fucking hate this ‘A player has to have been here for 5 years before he gets a regular start’ mentality.

Well deserved lead. No grip on midfield, Bruno not offering much beyond cheerleading so far. Very slow on transition, and he's trying to carry the ball from deep rather than getting Gordon and Barnes more involved.

Get Tonali on.

Tactics are shit, but away from home they generally always are so that’s nothing new. What has struck me this game is the lack of appetite and the back turning when Pope or the defence have the ball. Nobody wants it.

Can see why we've been looking at Trafford as a new keeper, Pope's been pants for the last 18 months. Add in Gordon and Trippier not having their mind in the game and our weakness at central defense... we're not even pressing any more, it feels like Eddie's not 100%, whether that's any alleged power struggles, the potential of being offered the England job or something else entirely. In general, the whole team doesn't look focused.

... it's not helping the ref's been inconsistent either.

Urgh, it's got big fuck written all over it... fucking Fulham indeed.

There’s nothing wrong with Pope, made a worldie save against Wolves to earn the win. It’s not the best goal to let in, but he’s been one of the busiest keepers in the league.

The back four have been bad, but our midfield are leaving space for Fulham to run full tilt at our goal.

Kelly is not a left back outside of an emergency situation, should have been Tino in there.

Surely you’re not actually defending that shambolic goalkeeping on their second..?

No, I'm saying you can't blame Pope when they keep running through us at will and getting shots away. Whether they scored via that goal and Pope saves others you'd expect to be goals (like Cunha last week) the bottom line is it was coming, you can't expect the worldies and no mistakes from your 'keeper when the goal's under seige.

As has been the case all season, it's hard to see what we're trying to do. The only strategies seem to be:

1) Schar diagonal

2) pass around near the box and look for Gordon or Barnes to do something magic

We have nothing else.

Remember all of those little patterns of play a few years back between Trippier, Bruno, Miggy, even Longstaff? The high press and lighting fast transitions? Joelinton and Willock storming down the left side? All distant memories.

Add to that the fact that we have huge gaps every single week, this has been coming.

Twice I have watched antony gordon making absolutely no effort to press a winnable ball. He is not right at all!

Bruno is getting caught too often.

The defence is backing off too far, meaning they can pick their passes. Really poor.

Big Dan looks five yards off the pace and schar another five. FFS!!!
