Think this will be a good barometer of where we’re really at this season, good win and where back on track, but another poor performance and defeat will make the City performance look like a flash in the pan.

Big game in that a win could really ignite the season going into another international break where we might then actually get our strikers back.

I think this game will tell us a fair bit about where the club is at form wise. We raised our levels against City but can we go to Everton and do the same?

They're absolutely shit, but I've no doubt we'll make them look like a top four team somehow. Need to be beating relegation battling teams away if we want to be in Europe.

Depends a bit which Everton shows up imo.

The away losses in 22 and 23 were at points where Everton had gone into their usual batten down the hatches mode (22 was end of the season where they were in desperate need of points to secure PL status, 23 was right after they had gotten the 10 point deduction). I don't think they are quite there yet so I'm cautiously optimistic that their team and fans won't show up in the same way this weekend.

Agree, the draw away at Bournemouth and losing to Fulham are poor results given the season aims and the quality at the top of the table this season. Got to look to win this one

I was assuming last night was our strongest (minus Pope) side given some of the reaction?

I would play:

Pope

Trippier

Schar

Burn

Hall

Tonali

Bruno

Joelinton

Murphy

Gordon

Barnes

I would start Burn for this one as they are so direct and he will be the best to challenge DCL in the air. Huge game and if we can win it will be a massive three points.
