Sibierski
Probably the most confident of winning going into a game this season. At home, way Brighton play under the new manager suits us, time off from internationals where majority of our starting XI would’ve been on the training ground. Just no excuses. Also think people have forgotten how well the two Joe’s worked together on that left flank a season or two ago. Doubt you'd see both Joes in the starting line up goven who's available, neither are up to speed yet

JEToon
It's some struggle to me having watched the Everton game and the lack of an absolute killer in the box to see a serious case for not starting Isak. Decent as the display v City was same would probably apply, teams been calling out for a genuine point of attack, can press and win the ball back all day but you need someone you really trust who can score. Joelinton7
15 minutes ago, Ronaldo said: Gordon more suited, have a word. Have a word about what? The fact that he’s awful as a hold up player? A big reason why he’s not seeing much of the ball is because it bounces off him whenever it’s played with his back to goal (25% aerial duels won). He also doesn’t press as intensely or with as much success as Gordon, that’s a fact. The two ways we get him the ball with most success is over the top so he’s either 1v1 or 1v2 or he curls a run to either flank and stretches oppos that way. He does also drop deep to receive the ball but needs quick, intense moves forward from teammates to support (we actually need Botman back to meet and beat CF’s at the hw line so we can get Isak and others consistently nearer to the oppo goal). But not having Wilson as an alternative target man really hurts us because Isak simply can’t do it. Isak has had 24 touches out of 133 total (405 mins) in the oppo box this season so… Gordon looked improved and more focused down the middle. Gordon obvs isn’t our cf full time but idk maybe start Isak on the bench for this. If Brighton are gonna’ have a lot of the ball, an Isolated Isak is no use anyway. Would rather it be Gordon chasing the defenders when it breaks than Isak.

Think he likes the pressure and responsibility of leading the line and the press. Not sure if they’re up to speed yet, but only mins will do that. Big Joe certainly hasn’t looked up to it since S’oton. I can see glimmers of little Joe getting back to it. They were so good couple of seasons ago dovetailing between cm and lw. Getting Isak more involved is more important than replacing him with Gordon for me, he may have looked improved there last time but his finishing is erratic.I'd like to see him and Barnes continue to swap flanks in a more fluid set up.
