Chelsea 2-1 Newcastle United (27/10/24)

A lot better last 15/20 mins of the half from us. Would like to see a bit more from Barnes. He seems to be losing a lot of battles but that hasn't been helped by the ref giving him fuck all.

We'll need to score again though if we're to get anything. Can't see our defence not conceding again. Definitely some positives though from that 1st half.

All about opinions, but I don't get this one [emoji38]

Was better after our goal but i thought before it, Neto was past him a few times and he seemed to be going inside when Neto was out wide giving him loads of space.

Didn’t even start running until Schar had dived in.

Clown.

He was goalside of Jackson when the move started then about 15 yards behind by the time it got played in.

We can win this mind. There fkn garbage at the back. If we can just be a little less garbage we could do these. Oh and Alan Smith is as annoying an arsehole as you're ever likely to hear.

I would bring Kelly on for Burn. We need some pace at the back and Burn’s having a shocker today.

Agreed

Say it all the time but I fucking hate Chelsea. The Abramovich thing and the way they've pissed money away so recklessly since Boehly should've ruined them. Instead they're absolutely fine; will probably have at least one more trophy under their belt come June and every chance of CL qualification. Palmer is the ultimate example of throwing enough shit that some will inevitably stick. Lucky fucking cunts.

A reminder of how self sabotage affects different clubs the further up the food chain they are.

He’s extremely tidy and rarely loses possession, will not get caught out like Murphy often does.

He's definitely better than Murphy, but he's far too timid to do any damage to the Chelsea back line. He's always looking to see if there's someone else he can pass to, usually sideways or backwards. Murphy's the same mind, but with a worse touch.

Schär is way too soft when he follows Jackson to midfield. You cannot let the striker turn so easily. Happens every single time.

Can't do it now because he took a daft yellow

We are a decent side with a couple of big flaws.

Sort out pace at the back and a proper DM and we are laughing.

I know we need a RW but I don't think it costs us games in the same way as above.

There was a chance after their goal where ball was passed across goal and Tino’s on the penalty spot while neto has 40ft of space around him unmarked.

He was done for pace for their goal by Neto.

Neto was recorded as being the 4th fastest player in the league last season.

He does a lot of people for pace when it is a straight forward race.

Burn having a nightmare because tactically we have allowed him to be dragged out of position by having a midfield that is being entirely bypassed defensively.

I’m not saying he’s not quick. The point was that Tino hadn’t been done for pace by him, which he had for their goal.

Mitchell needs to bring in a set piece coach, whether Eddie likes it ot not.

Yeah that'll work with the relationship, no manger should have coaches put upon him. Has to be Eddie's choice, or change the manager.

Poor first 30, good last 15. But threat always there with Jackson and Palmer as not once have we got grip of it. Our joy is the overload on left with Hall and Barnes, but it means us being brave with the ball in the middle.

I don’t understand what you are saying.

Can play these three midfielders together.  Need either a 10 with a double pivot or a 6.

I'd have Joelinton holding with Tonali, and give Bruno the freedom to be creative.
