What a fucking result, what a performance. Everyone to a man was unreal. The shape and positioning we employed was excellent, it limited them in everything they where attempting. If that Arsenal performance was a performance from Stoke circa 2012, no one would have batted an eyelid, we made them look turgid.

Special shout out to Hall and Livramento, both of them absolutely shut down their wingers. Saka did nothing all game, neither did Martinelli. Longstaff also, was quality. We just seem to look so much better with him in the team, his passing was noticeably crisper too, maybe the time on the side line has made him buck his ideas up. Man of the Match though was Bruno, that was a captains performance, he was everywhere and ran the show all game.

I also thought the ref had a good game, well, atleast by Premier League standards

If we can continue with this template, and sort out or away form, we could be a really dangerous side.

You fuck off, we've sang it in the Leazes End and now in the Gallowgate for over fifty years now, it's one of our songs.

I know we have. Doesn’t change the fact blasting it over the tannoy after a win as if we are Brentford or Tranmere Rovers isn’t small time as fuck.

Not impressed by Arsenal. Saka is obviously great, but then? Rice was shite. Tino had Martinelli in his pocket.

Thought Rice was invisible until Martinelli went off.

The full backs did great, but they were well backed up by Joelinton and `Longstaff on their respective flanks tbf.

It's so obvious there plan like if anyone gets close to them go over and win a setpiece.

They've regressed I feel and now rely on late winners and percentage football. Big sam would be proud.

I think all the players looked comfortable in their respective positions today. Willock and Joe Linton have a much better working partnership. Bruno ran the show like we all know he's capable of, loved seeing him relishing the physical battle in the middle. We  also had a genuine threat from both wings.  I don't think we've seen that version of Newcastle for a long time, we need to use this now to kick on and put fear back into opposing teams.

Wonder what Arteta’s excuse will be this season?

I'm waiting to find out.

He might acknowledge the better team on the day won.

Just for a change...

Hall was excellent. Little big things like getting blocks in and his head to crosses on supplementing being generally brilliant is more pronounced in games like that.

Yeah kept saka quiet but for that one cross.

Brilliant performance from everyone, great tactically from the Eddie and the coaches.

Ah, we can have a game day without moaning, surely even the sternest of critics thought that was superb.

Hall has come on so much defensively since the start of the season. Sakas on of the best players on the right side in world football and with Joelinton cutting the supply and doubling up we snuffed him out barring that one great ball from him late on for the Rice chance
