Aiston
Saving grace is only liverpool is really putting any form together. Easiest start to the season in a very long time for us and we botched it.
ChrisJbarnes
Thanks again to @Hovagod for providing me a ticket for this 2 seasons in a row, although the 2 games have not been the most enjoyable! Gutting to concede last minute. Again the problems of not having adequate cover for Isak are laid bare as we passed the ball around well at times but created nothing except the goal. It was a disjointed attacking display but Wilson coming on for those last 20 mins gave us a focal point to aim for and we looked better as an attacking force. I thought after the goal we generally controlled the midfield and was convinced we were going to come away with the win, keeping the ball up at their end pretty well. Tonali looked solid. Also I was annoyed that the ref awarded us a last minute free kick and then immediately blew when the ball was in the air Final thought, how can they get away with this view? midds
Didn't manage to see the game but the stats, xG and the opinions I've read tell the story quite well. Sounds like another game where we created virtually nothing and somehow spawned a point out of it and were only 2 minutes away from getting all 3 points. It's just not sustainable in the medium and long terms, playing well and being unlucky suggest it'll turn and the points will come eventually if good performances are maintained. Playing poorly, creating/converting very few chances and dropping points is much harder to put a shine on. Howe's going to have to pull this around pretty quickly and the club looks like it's hit the wall in the last 12 months both on and off the park. All momentum that was there has gone, the intensity has gone, the threat we offer is often minimal and our play looks stale and predictable. He needs to find answers quickly or he'll be sacked whether we agree with it or not.
Jonas
Think its a standard result for the season were having/going to have. We'll finish upper midtable they'll probably finish lower midtable (though hope they go down), looking back nobody will bat an eyelid at that result it would be that typical. Allowing for forgetting how disjointed a performance and bad a game it was

We keep saying this, but we're nigh on 18 months of poor and disjointed performances without a sustained good period. sempuki
Those stats wouldn't be out of place in one of the King's worst ever performances. We've been shit overall this season, apart from a few games.

When we play well and lose, it's about the result. That was a poor performance and a decent result, so naturally we're all going to talk about the performance rather than the result. Nucasol
I think the squad needs a shake up first before the manager. As usual we’ve held on to players longer than we probably should have. Would like us to become much cannier sellers.

Even at our worst last season we still posed a huge goal threat though, it's hard to grasp how limp we look going forward this season.

All we know is combine the money to buy the club and the money in the transfer window’s then they’re over three quarters of a billion down. It’s safe to assume they will be wanting higher than 7th eventually and at least will be wanting constant improvement. The injuries aren't as extensive this year but the performances are getting worse not better despite "lessons being learned". From what I and many others can see, we might have learned from the lessons but look like trying to make the results worse. Yes we might only be 3 points from Europe, but so are half the league. We're dropping points left right and centre in matches we really shouldn't be
Holloway
Every match sees me pffftting at our ball retention, it's been the same for a long time. You see other sides performing it well, then you see us doing a couple of sideways followed by an attempted forward key pass that goes nowhere, the regularity is remarkable

There was a few stinkers and a couple of ropey spells, but we won far more than we lost, showed amazing staying power given all of the setbacks and scored 400 goals. Even pur apocalyptic away form wrought several wins and otherwise meaningful results. This season has been very mediocre so far but pointing to trends based on retconning last season is totally unfair.
Smal
I thought we started really well today btw, for the first 10 minutes or so. Seems a bit of a theme this season, which makes me think we’re set up to win games but the players lose their heads too easily.

The results were decent overall considering the injuries, but way to many performances were we looked totally lost like we have done most of the games this season.
