Manchester United 0-2 Newcastle United (30/12/24)

Recommended Posts

Their substitution has really tightened up their midfield. They’ll probably come up a bit overexcited for the second half, key thing is not to concede and pick off the third.

It should already be over with some of those first half moves. That Tonali chance was a couple’s inches from superb

"When I played football in my youth I kept making crosses as shit as the ones Diallo keep making, but I decided to call it a day thinking "I'm not good enough to be a professional footballer", but apparently I was wrong, what is Diallo even trying?"

Someone explain the Isak disallowed goal to me. Schar tries to cross shoot to the right, the ball deflects to an offside Isak from a defender. That used to count afaik. What’s changed?

Doesn’t it have to a deliberate touch from the defender ?

Has to be a deliberate attempt to play the ball from the defender. We had a legitimate goal ruled out a couple of years ago away at Brentford(?) which is why a lot of us are probably so up on the rule.

Gordon telling Hall to take his time there doesn’t bode well for the mentality of the second half from us. I hope we’re not just going to try and hold on to 2-0.

Gordon had two chances to try to take it down the wing and pulled it back. Don’t love it.
