Who plays on the right though, him or Burn? Gonna be awkward for either one, but it's say Kelly looks slightly more comfortable on the ball than Burn so maybe best to play him on the right as he might cope better?

Mentioned it before in regards the Arsenal cup game, but Schar is such an important part of how we play. It's annoying taking one player out is going to cause big issues but unfortunately it's true, we will need to adapt and that makes the game instantly more difficult.

It does also show a weakness in our squad at right CB currently with Kraft out too currently.

Actually don’t think Schar missing this game is as big a blow as being made out. A bit more mobility with Kelly might be a better fit with Spurs forward line and he’s got to know how to handle Solanke a little.

Out of the two I was happier Tonali survived. With Schar missing soon against Arsenal a game to bed Kelly in not the worst.

Not sure he’ll gamble on Botman so soon.

Hopefully you're right but Schär is a pretty big loss for me, like, particularly with Krafthy (and Lascelles) unavailable. The balance of the team is scuppered by having two lefties at CB. We really need to sign his understudy/replacement ASAP.

At least the defence is now getting proper protection from Tonali but I agree the Schar replacement/back up can’t come soon enough. Someone like the Lens lad looks ideal if we could get him. Seems more likely we’ll aim to get a RW in Jan but who knows.

Can’t miss an opportunity to wreck a second rival club’s season in just one week. It could be 11 points ahead of spurs or 5 points.

And there’s 4 clubs within 3 points behind in the table

Another big test but one this team can fly through if they focus.

Think any squad is going to struggle with your first 3 choices all unavailable. Agree we need a new one soon though.

I think these will be a lot more dangerous than Man U. But with the way they play, they will still give us plenty of chances.

Hard to complain too much with all the players they have missing. But losing Schar is a big hit to the team. Defensively and also in our build up. Kelly isn’t bad on the ball, so not a bad replacement. But he had a couple of howlers against West Ham.

From the fighting cock forum:

“Going to be a real rough one

Isak's going to have his way with our defence while their midfield will bully our collection of fannies into submission.”

"Collection of fannies" sums them up well.

Always wary of Spurs because as shit and disjointed as they are, they still carry a lot of pace and fret. And can score goals, that's a given. But we'll get at least one or two here. If they come early it might turn the crowd and their feeble players ("Madders", the cunt) will collapse and shrivel as usual.

Think it'll be an entertaining game for sure. Just hope we nab the first goal to unsettle them.

Hoping Jo and co kick the shite out of the show pony.

Yea, Schar a loss because of the balls he can play that would proper hurt Spurs defence. Talking those long balls where it looks like he's not going to play it, then bam, it's pin point. None of our CBs can play those.

Back to the confidence levels for this game that I had before West Ham game :D Bring the same intensity again for first half, with general play, and we should get 2+ up, get the crowd on their back and play on the counter where the spaces will be a joke. Willock in for Joelinton will be my preference. Would also have Trippier RCB, because I think he's experience would manage Solanke better than Kelly, plus it still gives us that ball playing CB option.

Kelly actually has a really nice diagonal on him. Saw it a bit in pre-season. The fact he’ll be playing on the wrong side and isn’t anywhere near match sharp, based on his last game. Isn’t really ideal.

More from the fighting cock:

”You just look at them last night and think, that when they're properly at it (which they haven't been for a while before this last month or so), they're built to be everything that kills us. Everything we struggle against. Power in midfield. Snap in the press. Good delivery and strong in the air to compliment it. Transition so quickly.”
