Might have been answered already but if Gordon/Joelinton/Tino get booked in the second leg do they miss the final if we make it?

Eh? So you can get a straight red in the 2nd leg and still play in the final?

Yellow card bans from the prem and league cup are competition specific.  Red cards cross over.

See Pope and Bruno two seasons ago for reference.

Yes and there is 4 league games between the 2nd leg and the final

So unless someone does a Duran getting a red in the 2nd leg won't impact the final

The games running up to it will be a risk so players will need to be careful, don't want a repeat of the Pope scenario from last time

That’s a mad system.

I think it’s probably to stop a situation whereby you get sent off in game you get knocked out in and get a three match ban.

Your club gets knocked out in the first game they play in each of the next two seasons and your ban is still active 3 years later, were it just competition specific.

Just catching up with the post match stuff. Tell me he didn’t blame the ball. [emoji38]

To be fair to him, the journalist asks him about the ball specifically and Arteta replies with "you just have to adapt". It sounds like the journalist is fishing for a headline.

I think it's just because red card bans are an FA rule and therefore enforced across all FA competitions whereas the accumulation of yellows is at the discretion of the individual competitions themselves.
