Newcastle United vs. Fulham: 01/02/25 @ 15:00 (No UK TV)

Recommended Posts

Cant wait for this one. This will be first NUFC home game since 2012 when we drew 1-1 with Aston Villa (HBA scoring a worldy). I'll be sitting on my hands in the away end with my brother who is a Fulham ST holder.

Coming up for work on Friday and making it a long weekend in Newcastle (Friday- Monday), and weather forecast currently looks good.

Any recommendations for matchday and otherwise appreciated!

Im almost glad we got battered by Bournemouth in some respects, as if we hadnt Id expect it to be happening here! The run of wins couldnt go on forever.

I was at the away game where we lost 3-1 this season. Poor performance all round, however we had the chance to equalise in the second half and it could have ended differently. These are pretty solid but fairly inconsistent. Expecting a challenging game, rather than a stroll out for us. Hopefully we can edge it 2-1.

In a classic NUFC way, I fancy us to get a result against Aston VIlla, Arsenal, Spurs and the like but make it difficult for ourselves against teams like Fulham, Palace etc. Hoping for a professional performance and just get the job done and win. Anything else is a bonus, and really hoping to experience a good atmosphere at SJP!

If Manure can beat these we can

After that crap performance against man u, I can't see anything other that a total battering.  4-1 to The Toon at a canter using 9 substitutes.

Can’t wait for Iwobi to turn into prime Ronaldinho against us as per usual. Shite.

Hopefully he carries on with those, slow, clipped, sort of crosses to nobody all game. Like he did tonight.

The confidence already smacks of pre- Bournemouth

I'm more confident than I was v Bournemouth, they're not as energetic or as clinical up top, but they're still a well coached outfit who will make life difficult if we fall behind.

West ham vibes for me. Hopefully Eddie won't let complacency get involved. Do our thing and we a match for most in the league.

All I read was worry before Bournemouth

Yip, you are right.  There were loads on here predicting a defeat and most said that they would be happy with a draw.  No confidence boasting at all apart from me probably.

Fulham turn up with same energy / tempo they showed on Sunday night, we win comfortably. But i expect a response from them because that was a proper shit performance by them.

They had our number last season till Jiminez got sent off. So I’m expecting it to be the same again. Battle of the left sides will be key. Robinson / Iwobi for them, Hall / Gordon for us.

Forest v Brighton

Bournemouth v Liverpool

Arsenal v City

With the run we have coming up. A win here and results going our way elsewhere. Then we can go into this tough 3 league game stretch in a really strong position.

Obviously it’s really tight and a couple of good/bad results for anyone in this group from 3rd to 8th will mean moving about a good few places.

Fulham are a funny side as we found out down there. Not really that polished, but a combination of some pace and power, with a manager who lets them loose with it, means they will pose plenty of threat. You'd like to think we'll win it though.

We are not losing back to back at home. Decent side, but they have not been anything amazing lately. Always the danger of a draw, but this wont be anything like Bournemouth like some here are fearing.
