I'm choosing to believe that this is an elite misinformation campaign from the club to lull Liverpool into a false sense of security. They put out the reserves thinking it'll be a walkover, then the squads are released and BAM

 

- Isak plays

- Hall plays 

- Botman plays

- We secretly signed an elite GK and RW in January 

- We actually did appeal Gordon's ban, and it was double upheld so we start 1-0 up to compensate for the distress caused

Happened similar with Isak last season. Would be totally inkeeping with the last couple seasons, and the signs have been there the last few weeks.

Yes. I have followed us, thanks. 
 

He is coy and loves a bit of smoke and mirrors. But him actually stating no injury and that Botman has trained is fairly telling. It’s not his usual riddles and it would be absolutely mental if he was saying stuff like that. For them then to be ruled out for weeks/months like you’ve alluded to there. 
 

Unless they’ve both genuinely got crocked yesterday after light training. Which seems highly doubtful to me.

(Chelsea have lost 6 domestic finals in a row, but it's not 6 overall cos of their CL win. Tottenham and Villa are on 4 in a row.

Chelsea were the first team ever to lose 6 domestic finals in a row, so I reckon that would probably make us the first to lose 6 major finals in a row, unbroken by European victory. I'm not being negative, just interested...

Guys, as difficult as the injury, suspension situation and disappointing lack of form is, this team and manager are capable of doing amazing things on the right day when we are on point. 

 

A team with Pope, Lascelles, Schar, Long staff and Almiron starting beat PSG 4-1 and drew 1-1 away. 

 

We will need to be at the top of our game, and have a bit of luck, but if we can do that, it's always a possibility...

This was my explanation then. With hindsight I'd snap your hand off for Spurs, partly because the injuries and suspensions would probably stop us being favourites.

And the fact they are used to winning things, while the big occasions always seem to get to us (fans and players alike).

Liverpool are a strong side but they aren't unbeatable. I know they won tonight but they should have lost 3-1, 4-1 imo.

 

We start well and score first, we can 100% win this game. We might need a little bit of luck and good defending but this cup final is up for grabs. Liverpool obviously favourites but we are a live opponent for sure.

Honestly, after watching our left side get decimated in the last week for this game, followed by that unbelievably raggy, undeserved win against PSG, I'm finding it hard to muster any kind of excitement for this.

 

I know I'll be all in on the day and emotionally dead inside by the end of it, all their luck and our distinct lack of it, especially when it comes to finals, blergh.

I never went into any of our finals thinking we’d actually win it, tbh.  I do distinctly remember the 2023 LC Final hurting far less than the previous ones.

 

Probably a combination of it being the League Cup not the FA Cup, I’m older, and I wasn’t at the 2023 final.

I fully appreciate our injuries are a huge blow  - but jeez the lack of positivity on this forum does worry me come match day and our fans being equally flat and pessimistic. 

 

Like many others have commented on here - lpool are beatable if our players turn up and give it their all. Let's not forget our impressive midfield (not currently injured) and Isak up front (should be playing as it stands).
