the tickets that get returned in the next couple of weeks - do failed ballots get an email offering them a ticket?

Think they’ve already been returned as lower bowl spares have popped up for Pot 6 selection today. They might though if returned late or offer to the corporates who’ve missed out. Some quite badly actually.

Some lass I used to work with got one.

She always posts streams of her watching home games on her instagram stories.

She’s never posted a picture at SJP outside of attending a women’s game there.

Happy to see people who’ve been a fan since 2021 getting “lucky” with ballots.

He seems to have tremendous luck in the ballots this fella.

I’ve won one all season and I know plenty who’ve won 0

That’s a shame you missed out, and I say that genuinely, but if you made the error that’s your fault. No-one else put you in Pot 6 but you

I got Pot 6 because the club view me (who never misses a home league or cup game) as being exactly the same as someone who has only ever applied for 1x cup ballot and might not even have been to a game in their lives

And there’s nothing I can do about that

Totally agree it’s my fault, hence the lack of moaning from me. Only myself to blame for that.

im not sure if your situation, do you have an ST? If so, how did you end up in pot 6.

For the purposes of the cup final they could’ve categorised members by attendance, like they did for ST’s

You went to all cup games, you get a better chance of a ticket than someone who only applied for 1 x ballot. Or a season ticket holder who went to no cup games

But the cup final tickets isn’t the big issue. It’s just emphasised that we have a completely segregated system. The “have’s” and “can never have’s”. An apartheid, for want of a better word.

I want them to set up a membership scheme like Chelsea’s, where member attendance throughout the season is rewarded with points and points give you priorities, similar principle to our away game allocations.

And “loyal” members earn their chance of a season ticket, or having the same priority as someone with a season ticket if we never sell any ever again.

Ultimately, members need a ladder that allows them to elevate their position if they attend games

sorry, ignore last post. Just read this, and I largely agree.

The post I didn’t agree with was ‘why should a member miss out for an ST holder who couldn’t be arsed to join the cup scheme’.

There’s a whole other side to that argument, was my original point.

But why should a member who makes the effort to get to every game miss out on a cup final ticket to a season ticket holder who didn’t go to a cup game and now wants to go to the final ?

Why is the season ticket holder who doesn’t go getting that ticket ahead of the member who does ?

Members can’t get season tickets or join a loyalty scheme, so we’re trapped on the bottom rung. Any punter in the world can pay NUFC £40 and immediately get the same status as the lads on here who’ve not missed a game for 3.5 years

In your case you made an error, but that was in your hands. Which is very unfortunate, but that’s on you.

Everyone knew that attendance at cup games was almost certainly going to affect priority for cup final tickets

A fella who takes his bird to Newcastle for a weekend and fancies taking in the match so buys a membership has the same status as folk who have been long standing members and have followed the club man and boy

Row 5 244 and 245, hopefully no old people behind me this time asking me to sit down so they can see.

This is my worry as well, I tend to get... Animated we'll say  used to standing and if people behind me are sat, it's going to be fuckin frustrating.  Probably frustrating for them as well as I'll be up and down.

I’ll never agree on members coming above ST holders, sorry.

That’s a big statement when new ST’s were effectively discontinued in Oct 2021, there’s no more people allowed into that magic circle. It’s a closed shop

So anyone who was willing to keep going through the Ashley era will be forever given priority over anyone who didn’t go back then (too young, protested, lived abroad, skint student etc etc etc)

it’s not a closed shop, not even close. Hence some people who barely go will have a cup final ticket.

The way they’ve done the tickets for the final is bang on imo. Those in pot 6 should have been in pot 6. ST holders in that pot shouldn’t be above members and vice versa.

The fact it even got to pot 6 is evidence of that it isn’t a closed shop.

but we won’t agree, and that’s fine. I’ll save us both some time and bow out 👍🏼

Really? Don’t think we’ve been that bad, considering our main man isn’t playing we could be level.

Well aware we now lose 9-0 tonight.

Don't think it will feel as bad as the Man U final. Thought we actually stood a chance with that one. Winning this would be a monumental shock.

The thing I'm worried about after City and tonight is that the occasion might be too big for us again. I was hoping it'd be different the second time and after CL games, etc. and maybe it will be, but feels like it could happen again.

Think there are a few reasons for optimism after that.

Hall has kept Salah relatively quiet 2 games in a row (despite him having a season where he can create something with half a second as we saw at SJP)

We defended reasonably well and looked dangerous on the counter tonight, if Wilson doesn't miss his 1-on-1 it could've been 1-1 and then who knows, different game.

Isak and Joelinton back in the side, on neutral ground, and we have every chance. We're obviously huge underdogs but we've not been blown away by them either time we've played this season, we absolutely have a chance if we get into them from the off.

The key will be cutting out sloppy as fuck goals like the 2 tonight. They've not really had to work for either of their goals which is hugely frustrating. Manage to get through the final without any more of those lapses and who knows what could happen.

I'm not exactly confident, but I'm hopeful.

Yeah can see this coming a mile off.

We looked defeated before a ball was kicked tonight.
