Sibierski Posted yesterday at 09:14 Share Posted yesterday at 09:14 As bang in the middle C player as you can get.

Yorkie Posted yesterday at 10:34 Share Posted yesterday at 10:34 I like Barnes a lot. We've still not seen the best of him consistently, and I doubt we ever will. He's frustrating in how he disappears from games because when he makes an impact, it always seems to be in a really meaningful way. In the early throes of this season he was literally in the running for our player of the season tbh, then more injuries come and suddenly he's scrabbling around for minutes again. That right foot of his is absolutely glorious; the goals against West Ham and Wolves were absolute beauties. But yeah, C.
The College Dropout Posted yesterday at 11:08 Share Posted yesterday at 11:08 Think there's a dearth of talent at LW in the league. Maybe i'm missing someone really obvious but I can't think of a genuine world-class LW in the league. There's no equivalent to Salah (or close). At one point there was Mane, Son, Hazard, Sterling you could argue were top 10 LWs in the world. There isn't a massive quality gap between the likes of Gordon and Barnes - but the game is still meaningful. Barnes has lots of ability. But his lack of work rate and all-round danger is why he's a 10-15 G/A a season winger who struggles to get a start for a team that finished 7th last season and is 6th now. AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 11:08 Share Posted yesterday at 11:08 (edited) He could start for most teams in the league TBH, but the category definitions mean he’s a C. For B, he would get game time for most teams in the league and is a level below the elite (true). Is one of the best in his position (maybe but I’m not confident to say that). midds Posted yesterday at 11:45 Share Posted yesterday at 11:45 Top end of a C for me. Still get the feeling he hasn't really got going at this club yet, he needs a good run in the team but he's got competition for LW obviously and picked up injuries at bad times

I am genuinely surprised by his lack of work rate. I mean, no matter he is starting or not, he always play like just 85% of his all. Thsts not a dig, he isn’t “lazy”, but he didn’t show enough to challenge Gordon’s starting spot

He just may not have the physical capacity to go up and down all game or the mindset to do so. You have to think - a premier league winger would have been close to the best player in a team growing up from 5 to 18. Work rate isnt going to be something most valued in themselves growing up. Cf
Overwhelming consensus on C for Barnes Next up Matt Targett...
r0cafella
D
gbandit
Think Targett’s a very difficult one to call as we haven’t seen him play for two years and by play I mean a run in the team without injuries and with consistent game time. For us, he’s probably a D whereas I imagine his level is still a C or C-. Going to have to go with a D due to the fact he’s not featured but hopefully he gets sold in the summer and can be a good option for a team like Burnley
Andy
D. If he left us I could only really see him going to a relegation threatened team. So he is squad filler for the majority of the league at best.
Kid Icarus
Another one that's a few different grades depending on the circumstances and which club he's at. C, D, or E. For us I think he can only be a D for the moment unless we got a good fee for him.
Lush Vlad
D.
La Parka
Honestly - low D. Injuries, heading towards 30 in a position that needs pace. He was amazing when we got him, and this is no disrespect to that but he's one to move on especially with hall and Livra who can play there (and BDB lol). Could see him going to Southampton in the summer. Edited 4 hours ago by La Parka

Abacus
In the initial loan season, I'd have had him as a C. Since the transfer became permanent he's become a D, and he's stayed there, partly due to lack of chances / availability. D
midds
Played his best football while on loan and making it permanent plus injuries have kind of stunted his career unfortunately. He's nothing more than a D now but I think people forget how good he was initially. Seems like a nice enough bloke though, do feel a bit sorry for him
Sibierski
Just about a D, but depending how next few months go he could be an E. Hopefully a D though so we can get a couple of million for him and not have to keep him in the squad for final year as a token player.
NotRich
Solid D, aye. We’ll always have that half-season.
TheBrownBottle
Targett is a 'D' for me. Great loan signing, poor permanent signing - I was surprised at the time that we actually went back to make him permanent. Always felt like a stop-gap
