I really can’t see many people bothering their arse to be there before the bus has gone past. I don’t envy them tbh. It’s pretty difficult to put something on that will hold the interest of all demographics for such a length of time, but a full bus parade would have probably been better.

Surely the answer is catch bus around 17:00. Follow it to the Town Moor. Then leave 19:00 after group photo and Q&A and watch the light show as walking away.

2hrs in total and you’d probably be able to have a sly drink the first 1hr or more on the journey to the entrance.

Yep. Metro and public transport won't cope with the amount of people, will take hours for the queues to die down.

Going to head in 2ish, couple of beers with mates, watch the bus somewhere near Haymarket then off we fuck.

It's a massive once in a lifetime thing for a lot of people who weren't privileged to be there or go regularly.  Even speaking to the Neighbour she's going to it and she's not that bothered normally, but immensely proud of the region and the team.

Me? Think I'll just go for a beer or two with the usual crowd, and watch the bus go past, and then see whats what.  Have two tickets for the Moor, but whether I can be arsed to stand around in the cold and then deal with the inevitable arse-on of getting back on the metro etc, is another thing.

You might be right, but I’d still expect most people to turn up later in the day. I can’t see much appeal of watching the match replay in a field, or having a Q&A with the woman’s team and Bobby Moncur. The music line up is like the kind of Z list thing you see at a gay pride event.

The bus will arrive at the Town Moor at 5pm. The bus parade is only going to take half an hour.

Aye. Free event. It’ll be rammed.

If you follow the bus I suspect they'll be 10,000's also doing similar.

From the video doing the rounds looks like there's quite a big cordoned off area in front of the stage which, as someone mentioned previously, could be for the early birds.

Anywhere to park or better off just walking in from consett? 😁

Don’t think it’s the worst idea to park at the MetroCentre then bus/train in from there.

Might cycle up and change in the office just off St James boulevard. Save messing with public transport. If the wife changes her mind I’ll drive to longbenton or something and get the metro to west jesmond I reckon.
