Ketsbaia Posted Friday at 15:45 Share Posted Friday at 15:45 Was gutted today to hear my brother say he wants to do all the Town Moor stuff Noooo man, the city centre bus parade is mandatory. I need to fix this tonight.
J7 Posted Friday at 15:49 Share Posted Friday at 15:49 I really can’t see many people bothering their arse to be there before the bus has gone past. I don’t envy them tbh. It’s pretty difficult to put something on that will hold the interest of all demographics for such a length of time, but a full bus parade would have probably been better. LFEE Posted Friday at 15:53 Share Posted Friday at 15:53 Surely the answer is catch bus around 17:00. Follow it to the Town Moor. Then leave 19:00 after group photo and Q&A and watch the light show as walking away. 2hrs in total and you’d probably be able to have a sly drink the first 1hr or more on the journey to the entrance. Kid Icarus Posted Friday at 15:57 Share Posted Friday at 15:57 I think people are underestimating the normie (for want of a better word) element involved in this who'll absolutely lap up the event on the Town Moor. Everywhere is going to be absolutely rammed unless there's a hurricane.

Going to head in 2ish, couple of beers with mates, watch the bus somewhere near Haymarket then off we fuck.
mattypnufc Posted Friday at 16:00 Share Posted Friday at 16:00 It's a massive once in a lifetime thing for a lot of people who weren't privileged to be there or go regularly. Even speaking to the Neighbour she's going to it and she's not that bothered normally, but immensely proud of the region and the team. Me? Think I'll just go for a beer or two with the usual crowd, and watch the bus go past, and then see whats what. Have two tickets for the Moor, but whether I can be arsed to stand around in the cold and then deal with the inevitable arse-on of getting back on the metro etc, is another thing. You might be right, but I’d still expect most people to turn up later in the day. I can’t see much appeal of watching the match replay in a field, or having a Q&A with the woman’s team and Bobby Moncur. The music line up is like the kind of Z list thing you see at a gay pride event.

From the video doing the rounds looks like there's quite a big cordoned off area in front of the stage which, as someone mentioned previously, could be for the early birds. mattypnufc Posted Friday at 18:33 Share Posted Friday at 18:33 (edited) Might cycle up and change in the office just off St James boulevard. Save messing with public transport. If the wife changes her mind I’ll drive to longbenton or something and get the metro to west jesmond I reckon.
