Displayname Posted Saturday at 18:35 Share Posted Saturday at 18:35 Shit happens, thank god next game is home to Ipswich. We were tired after 3 games in 6 days and have not been used to be under pressure for some time now. Not going to read anymore into it than that. Still in a great position to make it, lets hope Chelsea and Forest turns our smiles around tomorrow and on monday. Think they will be the ones to "beat". Gonna have to be very clever in the window and be aggressive targeting free transfers and cheap young players in addition to 2 or 3 quality first team additions. Yep. This may be the trickiest window yet, but I think we are in a decent position to do it now, especially if we get a CL place.

It's easy to question when we make subs late most games, never rotate and end up losing games because we haven't got the energy. Even at HT, we should have made 3 subs. brummie Posted Saturday at 18:36 Share Posted Saturday at 18:36 How weird is this fixture? It seems to rotate between one side giving the other a twatting, usually going with home form, but even so, it's fucking weird. If i were a betting man - and I am - I wouldn't bet on this fixture, not ever.
Dandy Man Posted Saturday at 18:36 Share Posted Saturday at 18:36 It was horrific to watch but it's just one match, sometimes you get bummed sometimes you bum someone else, that's football
TheBrownBottle Posted Saturday at 18:36 Share Posted Saturday at 18:36 Not at all convinced by the idea of resting players for this match - the options look very limited. I’d have taken Joelinton off for Willock and Murphy for Gordon (and told Gordon he’s playing RW) well before the 60th minute mind

Would be happy to see Bruno and Isak moved on in the summer. I am not a subnormal kneejerking freak. What ? The same squad that beat Arsenal twice in the semi final, and then beat Liverpool, easily i might add if you discount the last ten minutes. And, that same squad is third. A squad without a proper senior addition in nearly two seasons, a squad that has one of the best away records in the league. You can slate this performance, and i would agree, but the character of this squad is indisputable, and if you can't see that, you need to give your head a shake man. Kid Icarus Posted Saturday at 18:38 Share Posted Saturday at 18:38 Shit happens. Tindall's done well in home matches where we've basically been able to play our standard game and thrash teams by being better. A step too far when you're away to a very good team, with a very good tactical manager, who have a very specific tactical plan. If we had a plan of our own, it was hard to see what it was and we definitely didn't have an answer for theirs, it was clear from the off. From there our players couldn't perform to their best and I think it impacted there performance later on in the match. Not saying the result would have been different with Howe in the dugout, but it didn't look like us under Howe. Just hope he's back soon, this is just a blip and it doesn't affect the players' confidence too much. Seems pointless rating players because their weaknesses were exposed through tactics more than anything, but what thr hell. Pope: 6.5 Trippier: 5 Schär: 5 Burn: 5 Livramento: 4 Tonali: 6.5 Bruno: 4.5 Joelinton: 5 Barnes: 5.5 Isak: 5 Murphy:

Elliottman Posted Saturday at 18:39 Share Posted Saturday at 18:39 Thought first half was actually a good game, two sides going at it full of aggression. Second half we didn’t show up, maybe the legs had gone after this week, who knows. We lost to a good side chasing what we are. move on, Ipswich next week. I’d imagine Villa would prefer to be where we are right now.

You honestly think the result would have been different had we played Longstaff today? How come you didn't say this before the match? Why are you being proper weird? We were clearly knackered and we have players who are more than good enough to fill in for a game. To humour you though, Krafth RB, Gordon RW, Miley or Longstaff in for one of the midfield 3.
