I mean sometime in the last 3 it seems.

You're doing that thing again when you just make shit up. Longstaff over any of our midfield 3 is obviously a massive downgrade, don't think I've ever suggested otherwise.

To try and get to the bottom of this, did you think we looked tired today, and were suffering from fatigue?

You two, you're like a couple of moaning old women. Shake hands, fuck off out and get pished.

Sad but very predictable to see some of the opinions after this match like. These lads are all incredible and are about to deliver the best season in any of our lives, one of the best in the history of the club.

I hope when we're sitting here with a trophy in the cabinet and Champions League football to look forward to, some people will get a fucking grip.

Don’t count on it.

This is just my opinion but I think his good/great performances have been very few this season.  He has had more poor games than good.  When Bruno is on his game then he is fantastic.  When not on his game then he is really poor.  I think he plays one game good followed by four average to poor games.  I do know that I am in a minority on here but it's my truthful evaluation of the Bruno footballer.  I am not on the wind up, honest.  He's not the "class" player that some think in my opinion.

You're entitled to your opinion. Nothing wrong with that.

Out of interest did you think this earlier in his tenure here?

Personally, I think he plays way too much football for us and suffers for it due to us not having any reliable options off the bench.

I think that is a key factor in all of this.

The players just need a break. Wish we hadn't lost by such a big margin, but it's done now.

When we have a better squad, and we still refuse to rotate, I'll probably have a gripe. But until then, I understand wanting to stick rather than twist.

Not bothered in the slightest, we’re still better than them… look at the league table. Plus, they had everything go their way, a deflected shot after 33 seconds and then another deflected goal later. We are also without our manager, they just got lucky. Plus the ref gave them everything! I don’t think they’ll qualify for CL, which should mean they are forced into a fire sale after cooking the books like Chelsea.

It seems to have been relatively level headed overall.

I’d fancy us to beat anyone in world football midweek under the lights at home with a raucous home crowd, yet games like today when under the cosh we seem to shrivel and the backbone and confidence dissolves..

Agreed. Bruno is just an easy target for some folk, it's weird. Comes across very rtg. Statistics counter all their daft blabberings.

If he has a poor game (and of course he does, because every player does) the team can suffer. But surely that just demonstrates how integral he is to us playing well? Chatting nonsense about a guy that captained us to our first domestic trophy in 70 years just make you (not you) look daft, in my opinion.

Nah. Catts for me like.

Unchanged team the past month. No bench options. 3 games in 6 days. Any team in world football would be tender after that. Mentally and physically.

Wasn’t great to see at all, but lets move on. We’re in a great position.

All the pundit talk of they could be down beat, sorry Villa losing to PSG was such nonsense. An extra days rest and Emery could fire them up that they can live with PSG so let's push on and qualify again. They already just beat Forest, so win today and a good result against City and the other fixtures almost guarantee qualification.

Exactly, they were never going to win the CL, losing to maybe the best team in the world is hardly going to devastate them.

I agree with the mindset part. Not convinced with PSG. Their back four looked awful when you bypassed their excellent midfield with long balls into the fullback channels.

Wimbledon 1988 would eat them alive.

Villa's GD is still absolute dog shit for a team fighting for CL.

We spent 3 months unable to defend, didn't manage a clean sheet in ages - at least in part because we were injuieies decimated at centre half.

We've played 7 matches in 19 days, including a CL quarter final both ties. It's frankly miraculous we've put together such a good run.

Absolutely, but your squad is ludicrously strong, stronger than most outside Birmingham realise. Seems like you’ve got an equivalent player in every position bar keeper.

Yes, they've done a good job getting into that position, even using the loan system with the current obvious examples.

outplayed by a very good team while we weren’t at our normal level. it happens. we are still 3rd in the premier league and everything to play for

Was just thinking how villa have essential got this large temporary squad by selling someone akin to Gordon and replacing them with Malen (who's nothing special) and a bunch of very expensive loans.

If they decide to make the loans permanent the wage balloons another 600k at least (this figure would require all of the loanees to take cuts btw) and require transfer fees which would cost more than they got for Duran.

Obviously what they Have done is powerful in the short term and in that specific context but I prefer our approach personally. Although I would love for us to actually do a better job managing FFP. we gave away by trading Anderson and not some random academy kid.

Leggy performance. Villa had the extra day's rest and brought in 4 fresh outfield players vs 0 changes for us. We started the same XI for the 7th game in a row and the third time in a week.

In that situation we were never going to match their intensity. We failed to adapt our tactics to compensate. I thought we would sit deep, deny space in behind and play on the break. Instead we pressed high up the pitch with a high line which was the type of game Villa wanted.

So based on what Villa and Forest have done on loan ins etc, should we of done similar or are we at a massive disadvantage due to our ownership.
