Maybe the captaincy is weighing him down. He spends far too much time trying to illicit fouls , gives away needless free kicks and complains to the ref none stop. Having said all this I don't know the answer Slowly becoming a duel merchant. It's sad to see. Edited Saturday at 20:11 by nemtizz

That alone infuriates me more than his crap performances. Can't say I've noticed that as much. Seen quite a few posts saying he hasn't been playing that great. He plays so many minutes that I can deal with a downturn in form and sub par performances. It's the other nonsense that tends to then throw his focus off even more during games that he really needs to sort out. It just compounds things moreso! Shush Posted Saturday at 20:26 Share Posted Saturday at 20:26 We aren't infallible. The moment we do well too many can't accept that another team, who are very good too, might have a good day and we have an off one. It's not impossible to conceive we tried, but second half were outwitted and suckered punched each time we tried harder. We got it wrong. It happens. It's not coincidence that when we lose we lose heavy at times - we're so well drilled and our bench isn't a game changer - so we try harder and get caught more. Shades of Bournemouth game today. We will bounce back. It's in our DNA.

This is just my opinion but I think his good/great performances have been very few this season. He has had more poor games than good. When Bruno is on his game then he is fantastic. When not on his game then he is really poor. I think he plays one game good followed by four average to poor games. I do know that I am in a minority on here but it's my truthful evaluation of the Bruno footballer. I am not on the wind up, honest. He's not the "class" player that some think in my opinion. AyeDubbleYoo Posted Saturday at 20:29 Share Posted Saturday at 20:29 Sad but very predictable to see some of the opinions after this match like. These lads are all incredible and are about to deliver the best season in any of our lives, one of the best in the history of the club. I hope when we're sitting here with a trophy in the cabinet and Champions League football to look forward to, some people will get a fucking grip. Longstaff over any of our midfield 3 is obviously a massive downgrade, don't think I've ever suggested otherwise. To try and get to the bottom of this, did you think we looked tired today, and were suffering from fatigue? You two, you're like a couple of moaning old women. Shake hands, fuck off out and get pished.

Out of interest did you think this earlier in his tenure here? Personally, I think he plays way too much football for us and suffers for it due to us not having any reliable options off the bench. I think that is a key factor in all of this.

Weezertron Posted Saturday at 20:36 Share Posted Saturday at 20:36 The players just need a break. Wish we hadn't lost by such a big margin, but it's done now. When we have a better squad, and we still refuse to rotate, I'll probably have a gripe. But until then, I understand wanting to stick rather than twist. AngelofTheFourth Posted Saturday at 20:37 Share Posted Saturday at 20:37 It wasn't the players fault. Same starting 11 for all 3 games in a week vs a team with a bench that could literally change the game. We need to learn from this as weeks like this will be common if we want to go far. Ronson333 Posted Saturday at 20:54 Share Posted Saturday at 20:54 (edited) Not bothered in the slightest, we’re still better than them… look at the league table. Plus, they had everything go their way, a deflected shot after 33 seconds and then another deflected goal later. We are also without our manager, they just got lucky. Plus the ref gave them everything! I don’t think they’ll qualify for CL, which should mean they are forced into a fire sale after cooking the books like Chelsea. Cornah Posted Saturday at 21:34 Share Posted Saturday at 21:34 I’d fancy us to beat anyone in world football midweek under the lights at home with a raucous home crowd, yet games like today when under the cosh we seem to shrivel and the backbone and confidence dissolves.. If he has a poor game (and of course he does, because every player does) the team can suffer. But surely that just demonstrates how integral he is to us playing well? Chatting nonsense about a guy that captained us to our first domestic trophy in 70 years just make you (not you) look daft, in my opinion. ryanegg Posted Saturday at 22:20 Share Posted Saturday at 22:20 Unchanged team the past month. No bench options. 3 games in 6 days. Any team in world football would be tender after that. Mentally and physically. Wasn’t great to see at all, but lets move on. We’re in a great position.
Teslact Posted Saturday at 22:25 Share Posted Saturday at 22:25 All the pundit talk of they could be down beat, sorry Villa losing to PSG was such nonsense. An extra days rest and Emery could fire them up that they can live with PSG so let's push on and qualify again. They already just beat Forest, so win today and a good result against City and the other fixtures almost guarantee qualification.

Exactly, they were never going to win the CL, losing to maybe the best team in the world is hardly going to devastate them.

I agree with the mindset part. Not convinced with PSG. Their back four looked awful when you bypassed their excellent midfield with long balls into the fullback channels. Wimbledon 1988 would eat them alive.

We've played 7 matches in 19 days, including a CL quarter final both ties. It's frankly miraculous we've put together such a good run.
