Premier League: Team of the Season ('24/'25)

Recommended Posts

Name your PL team of the season for this year.

(I know there are 2 games left but interested to see how any teams develop across the last two games and also who is in them to date.)

Maximum of 2 players per club.

Basing it on various formations with either 433 or 451 or variations of those formations...

Caicedo

Saliba

Salah

Tonali

Rice

Mbeumo

Palmer

Isak

(tough on MacAllister, Semenyo, Murphy and Burn—plus many others I have no doubt forgotten about)

I'm struggling to name a full team but my initial thoughts are as follows:

GK: Sels*

CB: Saliba

CB: Burn

CM: Palmer*

CM: Rice*

CM: Gibbs-White*

RW: Salah

ST: Isak

EDIT: *Added upon reviewing others

Sels

Munoz

Van Dijk

Saliba

Robinson

Tonali

Tielemans

Salah

Cunha

Semenyo

Isak

Something like that, would have had Mbuemo ahead of Semenyo but wanted to stick to where players play most often and not do a Garth Crooks

GK: Raya

RB: Aina

CB: VVD

CB: Burn

LB: Kerkez

RW: Salah

CM: Fernandes

CM: Rice

CM: MGW

LW: Rogers

ST: Isak

Isak and Burn had to be my NUFC two, and even though Rogers is primarily CAM, he’s played enough at LW and still produced same output to get LW spot for me.

Edit: Just remembered Kerkez, so put him in.

Now no Man City players.

LB struggling with standouts due to the name 2 at a club, so shamefully a default named player has gone there. Isak and Burn had to be my NUFC two, and even though Rogers is primarily CAM, he’s played enough at LW and still produced same output to get LW spot for me.

I'm with you on Burn and Isak. Isak is the top scoring Striker this season and Burn is our player of the season and we have won our first domestic cup in 70 years and he has been our most consistent performer throughout the whole season. Tonali has been great but had a sticky patch earlier in the season whilst Howe found the right combination. 3 of each club would have seen Hall at LB for me too.

Honorary mentions to Caicedo, Mac Allister, Gravenberch, Wissa, Rogers, Tonali, Murphy (9 goals and 12 assists!) and Hall. Who got injured too early for team of the year. But I thought he was nailed on for the LB spot before that.

EDIT - I have shoehorned in Mbuemo a bit. The 3 behind Isak can interchange. So I’ve not gone full Garth Vader.

I nearly went for Bruno F but couldn't put him ahead of Caicedo or Tielemens, he's definitely up there though.

Not sure on Rice or Saliba, Rice has had big moments but not as consistent as Bruno F, Tielemans or Caicedo IMO, and I think Gabriel has possibly had a better season than Saliba.
