Newcastle United vs. Everton: 25/05/25 @ 16:00 (No UK TV)

Recommended Posts

My only real concern is if Moyes gives them a complete pass to play however they fancy and they just pile into attacking. Feels highly unlikely and still think we would win, but I am less concerned if they sit deep - as mentioned above, think we have found ways through this in recent months and would do so again.

Regardless, nerves are still there and building. How the fuck is it so tight going into the last game. Nuts.

Feel like the only way this goes wrong is if we miss loads of chances.

I mean you can probably say that about most games tbh, but we know the nervousness that missing chance after chance creates will be significantly amplified here.

Weez Keys mentioned Pickford upping his game against us in her match preview thing and this seems to be getting banded about as pretty much conventional wisdom. Have I missed a game since he's been there that we've lost or drawn against them primarily because of him and not just us generally being shite/not at the races? Feels like we're dying to get into our own heads before Sunday for any number of reasons when the most likely and plausible outcome is a routine win

Always a dangerous scenario when one team is under pressure to win and the other has zero to play for. Think they’ll play like their life’s depend on it Sunday and it’s up to us to show we truly belong on the CL stage next season by dispatching the scouse mackem cunts.

Exactly. Bar a couple of pen saves (one which was his fault anyway) he’s never had anything resembling the type of game(s) against us to be fearful.

If anything at SJP he goes full ADHD, and it goes the other way (albeit he has been less twitchy the last couple of times he’s been).

Why do you think they’ll play like that? I can see the total opposite happening. They’ll all have their holidays booked for Monday morning, they can’t move in the table, players injured, a SJP absolutely rampant along with players coming at them 100 miles an hour. I imagine they’d rather be anywhere else than SJP on Sunday.

Suppose we’ll find out.

Ashley Young was on Talksport earlier in the week and made some comment about doing it for Pickford as the squad knew how much it meant to him.

What? Beating us? As if they could give a fuck

Can’t really see the likes of Ndiaye, Beto or Mykolenko giving a shining shite that Pickford’s from Sunderland so wants to beat Newcastle.

I’m not even sure Pickford’s that bothered really.

His teammates don’t give a fuck about his beef with Newcastle.

They’ve got their suitcases packed, boarding passes printed and one eye on the beach.

We really shouldn’t have a problem.

Likelihood is they've already downed tools and have booked their holidays and even if they haven't and want to beat us "for Pickford", what's to say they're anywhere near good enough to stop us at St James'??

I think if Isak starts it gives everyone a huge boost - if he doesn't I think it'll be a nervous affair.

Did he go on to say he didn't mind us getting champions league as he was at our last FA cup win?

I think we'll win but it'll go like this:

Man City will start winning, then Chelsea will start winning, we will still be at nil nil, there will be a forum meltdown, then a winning goal from us at the death.

Is it worth a gamble on Everton offering bot all as an attacking threat and going Burn LB in a 4-3-3? Not sure about 3 CBs against these.

Would that not just be playing three CBs still though?

I think we’ll come out the traps on roids and fuck them up. Doing it for Big Joe marras! :indi:

Would still qualify in this scenario
