It's not daft money at all. He's a proven striker who has all the tools to do a job at the top level. Man City and Chelsea used exactly these type of signings to fire themselves into the top echelons of Europe and it was worth every penny.

The only reason we can't do the same is because football has become a closed shop for the cartel clubs.

Depends on the fee, would you pay 45-50m for a player who will be 30 next season?

If there was no PSR yes. Before the rules were hurriedly brought in to stop us spending our way to the top like Chelsea and City did, these were exactly the type of signings I was hoping for.

Players for 30-50 million is the pond we have to fish in due to our finances.

With that you can either get a solid/slightly underwhelming PL player or take a punt at someone from the continent.

A punt from the continent is ripe for poaching by the cartel, they can afford to have a 40m flop on their books bouncing from loan to loan for 5 seasons, they're less likely to hijack a move for someone like Wissa

When brentford played us last year he came on in the second half and was a real handful. Would be a good player to have, no intro to orem needed and IS old enough to Get on with It and perform at the highest level...

He scores goals is quick and makes great runs, on low wages will more than likely be fine with coming in and playing second fiddle to isak.

If he comes and bangs the goals in when Isak is needing a rest I think it'll be money well spent.

I can't say I particularly noticed Wissa before last season. Is he just coming off a really good season or is there more to it?

Wissa has scored forty-five goals in the Premier League, which puts him just outside the top 150 of all time. 92.5 games of minutes, so 1 in 2 for nearly 100 games.

Harvey Barnes has 49 combined for us and Leicester and is 140th.

I'd buy him if possible.

I don’t really get the interest from our fans in Wissa. Based on the board’s reaction to this I’d say I’m out of step again

He's the house burger when we were thinking we'd get McDonald's. We're just stuffing it in and telling ourselves it's just as good.

I think he’s seriously underrated. He’s fast, strong, versatile, works relentlessly, presses intelligently, and his finishing is up there with the best in the league. His off-the-ball movement is ridiculously clever too.

Honestly, I reckon part of why he flies under the radar is because he just looks so forgettable. If he had the looks of Edgar Davids (and was four years younger), top clubs would be all over him.

He was a sub before last season i think.

Last season was his first playing exclusively up top. Stuck behind Toney or played wide left prior to that.

I'd say Wissa was just as integral to Brentford's success last season as Mbuemo was (obvious I'm not saying he's as good).

He also has everything Howe looks for in a forward.

He'd be a good signing for the right price, as a short to medium term option. Talk of £50 million plus is madness though.

As in?

Ok so we’ve signed players similar age before but that was in the situation where we needed experience to help with our relegation problem. Howe likes players he can develop over a couple of seasons, he’ll be 31 at that point. He also doesn’t seem technically like his kind of forward.

Agree on the age. Technically I dont see the problem.
