Not sure we get Wissa as well as Sesko though, that would be very expensive. If Isak goes then I think we get Wissa too

Problem then is that Sesko might not be a hit in the first season. Buying Wissa on top of buying Sesko would ensure that we have a proven goalscorer in the PL if Sesko doesn't pull any trees (if Isak leaves ofcourse). Stottie
Need two plus Osula. Best two includes Isak Best longterm includes Sesko. Wissa complements either if we can't have both.

We did the same with Isak. We're spending £70M on him, can't see any way we then spend £40/£50M on Wissa as well. If they were the only two players we needed this summer then yeah, but when we still need another CB and CM as a bare minimum, I just don't see how it's possible. Emotic
I'd sign Sesko and Wissa, keep Isak and send Osula on loan to a Champo club, tbf.

It's definetly possible if we sell Isak for around 135m or so. We should already have a decent amount of money to spend without the sale of Isak, and the sale of Isak alone would cover more than all 5 years of amortization for both players. The first year of amortization for both would in total be less than 20% of the Isak money, but probably a bit more than 20% when you consider wages. When we signed Isak we had Wilson, a premier league proven goalscorer, whilst he had injury problems he wasn’t quite made of glass the way he has been the last couple of years. Howe will definitely be looking for a proven goal scorer in the league as well as Sesko.
Kooiman
I can't see this one happening personally, and I respect it. Brentford have lost a lot of notable folk this summer, and they want daft money to lose their top scorer. For me it's a classic case of him being worth more to Brentford than he is to us. I hope for Wissa and Brentford's sake they can put it behind them as I think they're in for a long season.

I don't doubt it's possible from a PSR/budget point of view. If Wissa was four years younger and would have a resale value at the end of his five(?) year contract with us I would say it's more likely, because they'd know they could recoup some of that three or four years down the line. With the other positions that need filling I just don't see us spending £110-£120M on two strikers. A CB will be £30-£40 minimum and probably similar for a CM. Taking the low end of those guesses and we'd be at (incl Elanga and Ramsdale) over £220M spend this window. I think that impossible unfortunately. KaKa
If we do sign Sesko, this move for Wissa will likely happen late on and will be dependent on what happens with Isak.

He'd have a sell on value five years down the line where'd you could get a good chunk of that back. Whereas right now, at 28, he does not. At least not if we pay £40/50M for him. This is why Brentford will only sell for a fee way over anything sensible that a club would want to pay for him.

Aye, I hope this will be our stance. Give us what we want for Isak and he can go, so long as it happens in time for us to get Wissa (or someone of that level) in as a replacement. Signing Sesko means Isak is gonna go eventually, but if there’s a year overlap that’s great for us so they can pay what we want or wait.

I want Wissa here, he wants to be here and that's a massive plus. But we should only let Isak leave if Liverpool pay over and above market value for Isak. Otherwise no deal. So quite happy for us to miss out on Wissa.
