Shearergol
We needed a Wilson replacement two years ago. Isak needs to come off at the 60 minute mark anyway so whoever the "2nd striker" is will get loads of minutes.
Dr Venkman
Just now, Shearergol said: Wissa is currently the Wilson replacement, given we still have Isak. If Isak leaves and we sign Wissa and another, they become the replacements for Isak and Wilson. Why are people making so much of this? I think a lot are (rightly) concerned about Isak leaving without being replaced in squad terms that they're finding it difficult to accept that Wissa replaces his goals, now. That would basically mean that Wissa would be going from 2,929 mins last season to about 1000 mins. Which is about 11 full games. Who do you think Newcastle can sign to replace Isak if he leaves? Worried a bit by reports that he's done an 'Isak' though, in forcing a move from Brentford? He is nearly 29 years old and it might be his last chance of getting CL. Can have a little more understanding of why he reacted that way when they also promised him that he could leave this summer. But probably just me looking at it through through our perspective:)

Anyway, the likelihood is whoever comes in will play more.

He'll know the Isak situation, he'll know that if we can work things out he'll be competing with him for a place. I don't think he'll be too worried about playing less minutes for us than he does for Brentford.

Tiresias
We need to stop with this one in one out thinking though, we need enough players of proven quality to compete for first team then a bunch of young talents who may become the next isak (quality wise not attitude) in the background too. If we sell isak next season it'll cost the same for a like for like and we're no better

We’ve got a minimum of 48 games this season, hopefully end up being mid 50’s. Injuries permitting, I’d suggest he’ll be a lot closer to 2000, even as a clear ‘No.2’
AyeDubbleYoo
Surely this is done barring the formalities, as with Ramsey people are trying to sound clever or more discerning by saying how it's not done.
