JP
On the fee; why do we all care so much? Literally not our money and over a 4 year deal its £13.75m to PSR calculation per year, compared to say £10m to PSR calculation per year had we paid £40m which everyone would've found palatable. Sadly with psr, we need a sell on value ideally which is unlikely with his age.

A bit of wishful thinking but if Wolves go down, we might be able to get him at a more reasonable price. Jinky Jim
Unless I’ve miscalculated……..Squad is now 24 (Lewis Miley) can be missed out cos he’s only 20…….. Goalkeepers -Nick Pope, Aaron Ramsdale, John Ruddy, Defenders -Kieran Trippier, Lewis Hall, Sven Botman, Fabian Schär, Jamaal Lascelles, Malick Thiaw, Emil Krafth, Tino Livramento, Dan Burn, Midfielders - Joelinton, Sandro Tonali, Anthony Gordon, Jacob Murphy, Joe Willock, Bruno Guimarães, and Jacob Ramsey. Forwards -Joane Wissa, Harvey Barnes, Will Osula, Anthony Elanga, and Nick Woltemade. THAT leaves space for 1 more……Midfield player anyone!

Because it's PSR headroom on a player who will not appreciate. From a financial point of view these deal is awful it's likely annual cost is more than Isaks was

Sure, but it's not wrong in bringing up Sir Les when so many people are stressing about Wissa's age. Especially when life expectancy back in the 90's was like, 54 or something. alexf
What's his injury record like? I seem to remember until last year he was often out with something or other no? Or was he just a bit part player until last year.
Izakaya
£55m for a bloke who's 29 in 2 days is pretty insane stuff given how much of an unusual hard-on we seem to have for him. Hes a mid table striker, would have been a fistful of much younger players at the same level in Europe. But why do I even give a fuck it's not my money. It's a mental fee and financially awful deal in isolation but looking at the short term footballing side of things we're backed into a situation where we also need to mitigate risk for the season ahead, so we're buying somebody at peak of their powers age wise off the back of a 19 goal PL season. Your bang on, the issue is the predicament was very much self created, why did we wait until deadline day to replace Callum Wilson, it's just poor work all around.
