Is something underwhelming about seeing him holding the number 9 shirt.

I know that ship has sailed now and it's not as prestigious as it once was but it has lost some of its sparkle.

Obafemi Martins, Andy Carroll, Papis Cisse, Dwight Gayle, and the striker version of Joelinton have all worn it in recent years. If he maintains his Brentford form, Wissa will be a better player than all of those.

The 9 shirt isn’t a sign that you’ve already made it, it’s an opportunity to show that you’re worthy.

Yeah you are right. The ship has sailed. It's just another number now.

SSN “ what’s fascinating about the Guehi deal is even though Guehi could sign a pre contract with a European team in January, palace could still sell him - that’s amazing!!”. SSN explaining there that a transfer can be made in the next transfer window ffs.

For £20m no less!

First player I saw wearing that "prestigious" shirt was Malcolm Macdonald.

Between him and Wissa, believe me, there's been some right fucking donkeys in it

To be fair to them, I have unforgettable happy memories of all of Martins, Carroll, and Cisse (sorry, not you Dwight Gayle). Basically every number nine since Shearer has had incredibly high highs coupled with absolute horseshit lows.

Not even sure where we improve now  Obviously we can, but the squad has a complete feel to it.

Its now time to start making sure the Isak situation doesn't happen again with Tonali and Tino.

We are also finally in a position where we can target those cheaper European gems, if thats a strategy we want to explore.
