Thought everyone would be buzzing with the news it's only 5 weeks.

I personally am buzzing. He will be a great player for us. I just wish people would stop spouting shite about "ITK's" and what not. It's just ridiculous now days.

I don't understand the logic people are applying here on his forecasted absence, he's reported back after the next international break which would be 18 Oct vs Brighton. AFCON doesn't start until 21 December meaning he'd play 2 months with us before that tournanent starts.

Everythings assumptions and guesswork but using the info the club are reporting suggests he's not missing as much action as some folk on here are suggesting.

6 Weeks would take him to Fulham game on 27th October at best. And then his fitness could be way off, and need increasing to avoid any muscle injuries. Which you could argue is reduced game play over the 4 games up to the November internationals.

We then hopefully get 7 strong games from him up to he goes to ACON after the Derby, and in new year when it’s all done, he’s fully firing and rest if history.

It's not ideal but what can you do? Injuries like this can disrupt the best laid plans, same has happened to Chelsea with Delap. We just have to hope Woltemade has big enough shoulders to carry the burden for a while. He looks the part at least.

Oh yea, damage is done. Just was laying out what we could be looking at wise.

Hopefully we can get through the period and he’s back firing at the buisness end which we didn’t have last season.

IF its 6 weeks (could be less) that includes any rehab/recovery training estimates. He should be fit and ready at that point, just lacking a bit of match sharpness.

Either way, he'll have been out at best 4 weeks or at worst 6 weeks, not half a season so he'll hopefully not be miles off it.

Probably a daft question but is there chance he could take 6 weeks or slightly longer, not be fit and need precautionary minutes for a period of time and therefore miss the AFCON?

There's a chance of anything. But lets all try a bit of positivity and not expect the worst 💪

Is the silence on this a cause for concern?  It's not like us to be cool and calm when  there is a man-made crisis to be had

They club have briefed journalists that is only 4-5 weeks, meaning it's likely an MCL sprain.

Players can recover from that quicker depending on the degree of the sprain.

Have they?  Downie was suggesting otherwise yesterday

We should have demanded limited playing time due to his lack of preparation like Liverpool seemingly did with Isak. £55m, 29 years old, and we might only get a few good months out of him this season. PSR wise, this is looking atrocious value.

Being 29 makes absolutely no difference to PSR
