toontownman
Get him a full pre-season under his belt. We will see a different player. He will be right up the top of the goalscoring charts next season. When we sell him to a second tier Turkish team.

Stottie
Since it is review of the season time, I'd put Isak and Wirtz ahead of Wissa as flop of the season. Those two were the Premier League's most expensive signings of all time and are on absolutely massive wages unaffordable to all but three or four clubs. Of course this would mean criticizing the red cartel, so don't expect any mainstream pundit to say it.

I agree, but a cartel team like them can afford 250m and 500k a week worth of flops, Our flops have been far more damaging Edited May 25 by Moose
sempuki
Any chance he has a clause in his contract that states we have to sell him if we didn't make Europe? Not sure who would buy him though....

Isak for sure, Wirtz, while of course very underwhelming was still so much better than Wissa that I can hardly compare those two.
Viana
I hated the deal from the moment it was floated. He's essentially to us what Roque Santa Cruz was to Man City. I don't think you can port goals across in the way our recruitment team seemed to think. God only knows how we'll recoup any money for him.
Stottie
fwiw, if you take the last 33 games of the season. Liverpool only got two more points than us. They kind of fluked wins in their first five games, including 10 men trying to beat them in the last minute at SJP and that mental Burnley handball gift penalty, again in the last minute. After those first five games, they actually got fewer points (45) than the mackems, and again, only two more points than us. Just on Wissa but we did actually create chances for him, but he missed them. With Chris Wood, we struggled to create anything for him. In terms of a bad fit for the team, I think he was worse. Wissa is just on bad form, which has drawn extra attention to how limited he may be as a footballer even when fully fit. I hope he gets his finishing back at the World Cup. Without finishing, there doesn't seem to be much there.
