Was just going to say, there's nothing in that we don't already know. We've had a £25m bid turned down and are talking to Brentford over a new price which is reported to be more than £30m. Maybe £30 plus £5m in add ons? We're not that far away and according to reports there's a confidence it gets done.

Think a guy just started his shift and had to write a story.

I mean two separate teams have bid around £25m for him now. I think Brentford are being unrealistic with their valuation considering he wants to leave and has a year left on his contract.

If I were them i wouldn’t sell for below 40.

If they want 40, they will get 40.

Brentford are rightly going to stand their ground.

I dont mind us lowballing them, but at some point you need to show the colour of your money.

I could see us doing 35 + 5 but that's about it. What we dont have is TIME.

40m for a 29 year old is a no go, but its difficult who to believe anymore. Even agent Romano has been all over the shop when it comes to us.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s something like 35+5 in the end TBH.

I think it's a case of they'll sell if they get a daft bid in for him otherwise they'll keep.  PL survival is surely worth more to them than £25mil and if he goes you have to question if Brentford are in trouble.

It's the apparent pace of negotiation that is mind boggling.

I understand they want to account for every penny but "being patient" so far has delivered us very little.

Fine low ball at 25m but surely once its rejected you start the serious negotiation, with the idea of knocking 5m off the asking price.

I know we dont truly know what's going on but within a day, we should be going back with something like 28 + 5.

I dont understand how we seem to go 2 weeks between bids.

We are told they are working hard but what exactly are they doing? Howay lads, get a wriggle on.

Don’t think I can participate anymore. It’s not even a real update and it prompts 3 pages of whinging and slagging off our approach. It’s insane

What do you think people should be talking about?

They are canny operators. They will have targets themselves.

Theyve known Mbeumo has been leaving for a while too, so they will be on it.

I could see someone like Omari Hutchinson going there.

I had your opinion when people where whinging pre July. We are now over half way through July, weve barely improved the team and potentially got our best player unsettled.

It's each to their own on at what point they get frustrated but mine was the moment the Ekitike fiasco happened.

Whatever our plan was, surely its not in dispute that its not gone well?

I really don't get why these negotiations take so long.

'We bid £25m'

*2 days later*

'No'

*3 days later*

'We bid £26m'

*4 days later*

'Hmm, no'

*3 days later*

'We bid £27.... oh, Chelsea have bought him'

Surely they can thrash out what's acceptable to each party in a day or so of back and forth?

I can entirely understand us taking our time for certain players, at certain points. However, at some point we need to actually sign some players.

We have to get a forward and a CB, minimum and that's just to not have a disaster next season IMO.

In order to actually push on we could do with a CM and a GK too.

Weve got 3 weeks until the seasons starts.

This is all going to come down to how hard Wissa is going to push. Mbeumo played nice with them, which allowed them to hold out with Man U. Wissa is older, he likely knows it's this Summer or never for a big move. Reckon Brentford are holding out to see if Spurs get involved.
