Im a big believer in add ons. If he scores goals for us, Chelsea can have the extra money, if they dont believe he will score goals for us, give us fair value.

 

Under Eddie, Jackson would get at least 15 goals.

Chelsea have gone down the route of the Pep disciple, and therefore the slower build up and the infinite side to side passing, and this definitely does not get the most out of Jackson's strengths, and so in some sense they were actually limiting him to some extent. Jackson looked better and scored more goals the previous season under Pochettino, whose style is more high tempo.

 

For Maresca's style of play the likes of Pedro in particular, certainly suits them better. Delap is one that came up through Man City and already has a relationship with both Maresca and Palmer I believe, and so that kind of makes some sense for them too as a different option.

 

And so the replacements Chelsea got I would say are more suited to them. 

 

The £80 million price for Jackson is definitely a stumbling block, as that is just outrageous. At the very most £60 million for him in this market.

Like Jackson in some ways, he's a good link player and I think he would help our wide forwards and CMs get more goals. 

 

But he can't be the Isak replacement.

Hear me out. But him and Wissa as Isak and Wilson replacements isn’t that bad. Assuming Isak does leave this window and it is for no less than £150m. Which is doubtful. 
 

But that is ignoring how inflated the fees are for both players and the AFCON. 

 

The combined price should be no more than £80m. 
 

Also some desperation involved on my part. As we just need some players in!

I reckon jacobs is just doing a romano and getting paid for putting out bollox. Maybe chelsea or jackson's agent paid him? Something about this doesn't ring true. If chelsea desperately want rid of a player whose made considerable appearances for them, then give us him on the cheap. 30 million is acceptable.

He’s the biggest Chelsea schill going and will be absolutely on the case doing his master’s bidding (or pimping in this case). There’s a reason he’s consistently the first person on Twitter to break Chelsea transfer news. Quid pro quo and all that.

He’s a decent player, but the whole situation is just painful. Not only will we be replacing Isak with a downgrade in Jackson, but we’ll have basically funded Chelsea’s move for Pedro- the striker we actually wanted- and will end up with the castoff he was brought in to replace. It sucks all around, man.

It's not like we need one of, if not the the best striker in the league to compete at the top. We can easily improve the squad with Jackson and Wissa if we get improvements elsewhere on the pitch aswell.

They will know that they can't upgrade with Joao Pedro and then sell Jackson for more than they bought him for. I do think there is a decent player in Jackson at about £40m to £50m, any more and we shouldn't go near him. 

 

The guy also comes across as a tosser which doesn't help.

We can't be worrying about Chelsea really. They have just banked £100 million from the club world cup, and everyday are selling youngsters for £20 million and £30 million. They are also selling assets back and forth to themselves. They have an immeasurable amount of funds and so anything we send them for Jackson is insignificant really.

 

Newcastle just need to worry about what they are doing and get in players the manager likes to improve the team. A by product of all these signings at Chelsea will always be that some decent players also become available too. Turning down a chance to sign some of them if it makes sense for Newcastle, just because we don't want to fund Chelsea who are banking 100s of millions anyway, probably wouldn't be smart at this stage anyway.

 

Also, we may have wanted Joao Pedro but unfortunately he didn't want Newcastle! And funnily enough Mr. Pedro has not been as productive in the Premier League as Nicolas Jackson has!

 

We will also be bringing in two strikers to replace Isak.
