Yeah and my own gut feeling was saying this figure before it was reported.

Chelsea have no issues, they've sold lots of players and have cl and club world cup money.

Tbh psr is dead people should stop thinking of it as a constraint too many loopholes.

Apart from for us, we won’t exploit any.

Rudoni is a gamble isn't he keep hearing the name mentioned but don't hear any other clubs linked with him. I know this forum has a hardon for our own Morgan Rodgers but the profile doesn't seem to be similar at all.

Budget probably stretches to maybe about £165m with the sale of Longstaff ( sale of Dubs is probs minimal)

I like the Mcginn links, tho Paqueta is supposedly available on the cheap

Mcginn would be an awful allocation of resources makes zero sense for us. No point chasing these short term fixes we ain't qualifying for Cl next season.

I doubt Paqueta is cheap and if he is it's a red flag in itself. Gambling bomb like Sandro maybe hah

If we pivot to Jackson can't see us signing Wissa, so that will be bad news for him.

When we got our first bid for Wissa rejected there was talk that Openda was an alternative option.

Wonder if we could be looking at a Jackson and Openda now.

I’m hoping that’s why we’ve still got people sniffing around Leipzig.

Just my opinion, I am sort of sick of having to defend my own analysis on a player who I've watched a lot over the last 2 seasons (Jackson). We are where we are and our star striker has made it even more difficult for us. I have a different view point on what a 29-32 year old player does for us on PSR in the near term as I still have some hope and care that we perform our best over 4 competitions and 4 chances to make memories and maybe nick a trophy.  I never walked away when Ashley was taking the piss, I never walked away when the PL was blocking our sale, I would never consider it now despite the league's rules continuing to work against us and i wouldn't consider it even if I am upset with PIF/RB with how they've handled the boardroom/executive positions.

I find myself thinking this regularly throughout the day, it’s staggering.

It's unfathomable like, this will be project reset in 12 months like vultures will properly be circling next summer.

I did wonder about that too!

Leipzig have apparently made Sesko, Openda and Simons available for a full rebuild after missing out on Europe.

Given the amount of time we have had to plan and do the groundwork, it's been a monumental clusterfuck. Maybe we save it but given Eddie's propensity for bedding new players in slowly, we've put ourselves way behind where we should be

The only reason i think we're interested in signing Jackson is, like Ekitike and Pedro, he was identified before he went to Chelsea as a player who had attributes we like.
We seem to have a small list of players who fit Eddie's bill and we keep track of them. It won't be a kneejerk thing, that's not the way he operates

Whatever happened to Tammy Abraham? seemed to have it all and was a good finisher from what I recall?

Seems a shame (See that he is now at Besiktas)

I’m off to watch him live in action tonight, will report back.

have a forum of ppl obsessed with us finding new names yet also bemoan that transfers take time, years and years of scouting and relationship building and we can't be knee jerk, so when we do move on someone we've heard or been linked with in the past, it becomes "well this list is old" and repeats the cycle of wanting new names.

My true hope is that we're finally using the decoy tactic.

After being turned down by so many, we're using Jackson while proper targets get swiftly done in the background.

Oh wait, scratch that, it's us....

Rumours are he is on over £250k a week. I doubt we make this deal work.

I thought Chelsea stopped paying huge wages ? they just pay a smaller amount but over 2 decades.

Keep Isak. Spend 50-60m on Jackson as his backup/rotation/partner. Move Isak next summer, go and sign another striker next summer. Be happy with that. As i said before, Jackson needs work but he presses well, plays transition football well, and believe Howe's team would fix many of his issues in due time.

Isak and Jackson would be good, yeah.
