get Watkins and wissa and get the guaranteed goals (they’d outscore our pairing from the last two seasons imo) and sort the PSR issue down the line.

How would we sort PSR down the line though? Given the club have not tried any work arounds such as training wear sponsors, other form of sponsorship,  fiddling with a deal that involves selling the women's team to themselves or challenging PSR verbally or legally I'd imagine that'd entail having to sell a Tonali, a Gordon or similar. As Watkins and Wissa we are pretty much guaranteed to make a sizeable loss on if we signed them this window given their ages and the fees they'd command.

 

I think this window has shown having Champions League football to offer means next to fuck all, it's about having the most money.

Personally, and I know it’s not a popular opinion on here, I’d much prefer we went with Watkins and Wissa, or even Jackson, before going for someone so raw and unproven to any real degree.

My personal choice would actually be Watkins and Samu. Two different styles , two different ends of their career and one of them won't be off to AFCON. Also I'd rather give Villa money (and weaken them) over giving Chelsea money (and not weakening them). 

 

Hard to know whether Watkins and Samu would even be possible, close to £100M for those two you'd think.

We’d have beaten loads of clubs to transfers if we hadn’t tried to compete with bigger clubs who have more money anyway. More down to our list of targets.
