I don’t think they do in the laws of the game or how they are judged/incentivised. Which I think is right. That thinking is how you get blatant reds not given early in a game. Like the De Jong Alonso World Cup final kick. Ref didn’t want to send anyone off from the start. If there was no VAR and the penalty was given - it would be a dive. In that instance Ramseys only true saving grace would be to suggest it wasn’t a foul or he fell over straight away - as I’ve seen players do in the exact same situation (being on a yellow, diving and realising they are on a yellow). But Casemiro and Fernandes were right to pressure the ref (acting in their teams interest as 2 of their most senior pros and captain). There was a decision to make and the ref folded. The ref was weak as piss there, but it also shows that we need to get back to shithousing like we did a couple of seasons ago.
