He’s going to be excellent for us.

He’s shown in flashes what he can be but I’d like to see him grab a game by the scruff of the neck and run it sometimes.

Him and Barnes were great today dropping into little pockets and finding a pass to hurt the opposition. They also got close to wolte and used him well.

Teams need neat midfielders who don’t do a lot wrong and move the ball around well. We definitely do given how prone to mistakes we can be.

I’ve said this countless times on here but not every signing needs to be a ‘top player’. Forget the fee. When you have so many games to play you need a squad of players which can manage all those games. At least some of them aren’t going to be ‘top players’. Some of them just need to be good enough.

I actually think Ramsey has all the talent necessary to be a 'top player'. However, some would do well to lower their expectations of what a successful transfer is. It's going to be another long summer.

The less said about the idiots who decided Ramsey was a poor signing because Elanga's shit, the better.

I thought he was good yesterday (first half mainly) and I'm glad to see him backing up those performances when Bruno was out. I'd still like to see him do it over 90 minutes and on a consistent basis, but you could level that at any of our players.

Good to see him adding some end product to his game in the last few weeks too.

Both of his two recent assists were so perfectly weighted man.

Good to see him a bit further forward in this current setup. He'll get goals and assists in those positions.

Of all our recent players he reminds me most of Kieron Dyer I think.

Much less explosive but I see what you mean

Dyer was actually a great player in hindsight, definitely should have done more with his career

Ramsey is good, not sure he is £42m level good though.

I'm convinced we'll look at that £42m fee this time next season and think it good value. You can see he's a good player, when there's other people who can use the ball and good movement around him like yesterday it highlights how important he can be.

The pass to Barnes at Forest & the one to Osula for his first yesterday look like simple enough balls but they're perfectly weighted and timed. Bruno is a magnificent player for example but I can think of dozens of times he's gone to make that particular kind of slide rule pass and made an arse of it.

Just need him to stay fit and get an extended run in the side. I really hope we see Joelinton phased out a bit next year because we just don't need him in there for games when we're expected to take the initiative and Ramsey coming in for him elevates our game with the ball hugely.

The thing with Ramsey is that his game is very flexible, possibly too much which gets in the way of establishing himself more. He can fit into a possession approach as he has a good touch & pass, but he's also got the athleticism to be a more transitional player. We've seen with Willock, it's all transitions - his game just isn't consistent enough when you need to sharpen up the passing.

He seemed to relish that free role yesterday.
