Genuine question if anyone familiar with Bundesliga can answer

This guy looks insane on paper, close to 2m height with excellent technique, can dribble himself and create chances, great vision and can pick up teammates easily.

How on the earth Bremen give him so little minutes, and then let him go for free to Stuggart? His breakout at Stuggart at the age of 22 is really late for a player with such obvious strength on paper. People comparing him to Ibrahimovic - whom already made his name as young as 17 at Ajax.

I ain’t too worry for him as Bayern probably did more scouting than us on this guy. I just wonder why and how can this happen?

They had Fulkrug and the great Josh Sargent.

But aye, seems like he needed minutes and the Elversberg loan brought him on. Played a lot of minutes in his last season at Bremen but was more of a creative type than a goalscorer according to that Opta article that was put up.

Everyone develops at a different pace. Some players look like world beaters at 17 and then stall out. Others look like bench warmers until their early twenties until suddenly everything clicks.

Exactly. Fair reminder we beat Barcelona to the signing of Garang Kuol and look how that's worked out.

So £130k a week contract. Seems a bit low actually. Would have thought it to be a bit higher considering the fee we've bought him for and our rather desperate situation.

Given the ongoing situation with the 🐍 it's very possible the agent/player wanted a release clause in the contract. If so, that will be reflected in lower wages.

He was on 25k a week before that, he probably feels like he's hit the jackpot. Tbh I think considering he's only had one good season behind him the wages are pretty high, but I guess that reflects the interest in him from bigger clubs.

thought this part was interesting as in why he struggled at Bremen. In the sense it really pinpoints the type of player he is and why he's probably going to be a success here ironically.

Absolutely buzzing with this mind. I’ve got a weakness for massive forwards (don’t we all?) and he seems to be one of the most unique giants ever to play the game with his other skills. The fact he’s German is just a bonus.

Seems a fun character as well.
