Haven't read this thread over the last week but I think the consensus is that he's more of a withdrawn striker, and he likes to drop deep. He's very different to Isak so we need to find a different way to play to his strengths. It feels like we are still playing as if we have Isak as our spearhead. Plus you have to factor in losing our full backs which has affected supply lines, and PL defences are usually harder to pentrate than most international teams. The College Dropout
I don’t think he plays like an Eddie Howe 9 needs too. We are a direct team that enjoy playing in transition. In all Eddie Howe teams he’s shad a striker looking to get in behind a fair amount. IMO as he is. He’s a supporting striker in an Eddie Howe team. He has to try and make runs in behind and make sure he’s in the 6 yard box for headers regularly to be a Howe striker. These are things Kane does despite similar limitations and often playing deep. In a more patient team he’s fine as he is.
Lush Vlad
I want the return to the Howe 4-2-3-1. Would that mean Woltemade is Josh King as a support striker. Wissa is Wilson? No idea if those two actually played together like that. Seems like forever ago. But I’m sure he used to play with more of a 10/attacking mid/supporting striker. Wilson previously at Bournemouth too. Wood was always a capable to very good PL striker, but he was a bad profile fit. And even Wood attempts to run in behind too. Signed Solanke too but that didn't work out initially. Not a big sample size still aye. It's the directness and transition more than the track record for me. Gyokeres would look good for us, we would hit him early and he would be there for early crosses and 1-2 shot finishes. In 433 Howe has never asked for a lot of link-up for his strikers. He wants them to stretch play and get us up the pitch.

To me this indicates that we may have been after a different profile of forward for the run off the shoulder type to play alongside. Could be horses for courses or Howe may be looking at a change in system.

I think he wants the option to play that way a lot more than he has done, which was mostly down to both Wilson and Isak being crocks.

Mole
I'm sure he'll wish his attempts weren't as central but at the same time he's probably happy that he had chances to miss
KaKa
Really liked his more varied movement today, and the chances he ended up getting. Very very promising for his continued evolution into a more complete striker.
Bimpy474
Should have took a chance from the three today, but all on target and the third chance was a really good save. Love him, quality is clearly there.

STM
The fact we created chances for him is the good thing and that we didnt need his goals to win. He was in all the right areas.
Jack14Bojangles
I'm very pleased with him today. Good finishing in the box. Great header that led to the 2-1 goal. Donnaruma made some excellent saves, unfortunately. With a different goalkeeper, Nick would have at least scored.

Kid Icarus
Could and probably should have had two, but he battled away and once again wasn't protected by a ref who gave freekicks against anyone even looking at Doku.
