Probably an unpopular opinion but I genuinely would seriously consider selling him if a move to a German club was in the offing over the summer. I don't doubt the lad has talent but we absolutely need a striker, he isn't one and we paid a hefty price tag for him and the longer he's here unfortunately, the more it shows that we had to push the button just to get a front player in.

I like him, think he's a very good footballer, but if Bayern are still keen and would offer £70-80m, I'd be tempted to take it and have another shot at finding the true Isak replacement.

Nick wants the ball into his feet in the centre early outside the 18-yard box. He shows for it all the time. We continually ignore him and spread the ball out wide. We aren't playing to any of his strengths

I think there's every chance he moves on in the summer.

Great player, great character, just doesn't fit, he's nothing close to the way we want to play.

I don't think we'll lose any £ on him, but i do think we may move him on.

Same mate, I feel sorry for him in a lot of ways but it's getting painful to watch a lot of the time now and I can't see it working unfortunately.

I feel like the team trusted him much more earlier in the season. His own form has likely dictated that they don’t as much anymore.

Said it in the match thread though, I think refs have affected how he plays as much as anything else. He backs out of physical duels because he knows he won’t win a foul when he’s fouled, and he’ll likely give one away when it’s 50/50. It’s absolutely mad how he’s reffed.

Absolutely mental to suggest that coaching and time on the training ground could improve him, he either needs to be sold or shoehorned into a position he's never played in his career.

Of course movement can be trained. Where to run, when to drop deep, when to play first time and where etc. If Joelinton can be turned to midfielder, of course this can be taught

the problem with him is we sit so deep and he is too slow to play as a 9 the way Howe wants to use a 9.

I used to watch Wycombe Wanderers for my sins and it was similar to Bayo Akenfenwa who due to his size refs allowed holding or even defenders on his back anfmd fouls not given.

Just rewatched our best goal this season against third against Benfica and that's how to play with Wolt, both wingers were narrow and Gordon one two with him before threading it thru needs to happen more often

What happened to the first time layoffs?

Why does he now try to hold onto the ball so long?

I fear he's been told to do this. It is not working.

His goals have usually been worldies when they come. He needs to learn to score a few tap ins. But he's never in the right place for those.

Would people sell at £50m?

100% yes, happy to see it as an expensive loan when no other striker would say yes. Hes not a striker and we dont player with a 10.

We're not using him to his best potential, but selling at a loss would be financially dumb.

If a German club came in for him, at a no loss fee, then we'd need to be open to it for his sake. Because if we don't have a plan to accommodate his style in our play...then we're fucking with his career.

Wish he'd fix his socks. Looks proper trampy. And maybe stop wincing and looking so sad.

You must really be annoyed watching football if players doing weird things with their socks bothers you. Pretty much every player cuts or tears them or wears them too low or too high

If playing two strikers was still a thing, he'd probably be excellent as a Berbatov to Keane, or Crouch to Owen type. Could play him and Wissa but because most teams play a midfield three, it's asking a helluva lot of what would be a midfield two for us.
