AyeDubbleYoo
Don't think we'll bring in anyone like him, perhaps a midfielder like Ramsey could play there. TBH even Barnes could probably do alright in that role. But maybe we would end up just going back to 433 when Nick isn't playing.

joeyt
Bruno could play as a number 10 but he's also our best centre mid

KaKa
Yeah, think Bruno is too important to the initial build up phase, and so wouldn't want to move him from CM.

Or would you want someone else brought in for that position? If we don't buy someone, then I'd expect (or maybe hope is the right word!) horses for courses depending on the game situation and who we're playing. In theory, Bruno, Ramsey, Joelinton, and Willock in the current squad could all play the position, but they're very different players to Woltemade so like all good questions, I'll stick to "it depends". Another good question might be who would be the best 10 if we had to play Woltemade up front?

Maybe if Tonali leaves and a different sort of player is added in that lone 6 position in the 4-3-3, then perhaps.
AyeDubbleYoo
I'm sick of everything this season, I just don't believe any particular formation is a write-off. 433 with more technical players who can pass and control the ball would still be fine when needed IMO. Nick is so unique that I can't see anyone comparable being added to the squad. But I agree that Ramsey could operate in similar spaces.

There's no reason any alternative option has to be just like Woltemade. Just has to be able to play off a striker and create chances and be a goal threat. I think what worked before isn't likely to work again, football is always evolving and as Ferguson used to say "if you don't go forward you go backwards". Like it's possible we'll have the players where 4-3-3 is a viable solution again but I think we are very far away from it. To answer Kaka's question though I would like to see another option in that area of the pitch. For me the '3' in a 4-2-3-1 is the biggest area of weakness in the squad overall considering how important it is.

He's reminded me of certain others in that sense - where the idea of him seems to exist in theory but without much evidence (different type of player but Luque always comes into my head first). At the end of the day, he's shown glimpses and has got eight PL goals this year. It's not good but it's not disastrous. If the other new striker haf scored more than an eighth of that, the conversation around him is probably a bit different imo. 8 goals with zero Premier league experience, a team around him playing well below their best, limited game time and being shuffled into strange positions isn't too bad imo. Let's see how he does next season after the summer player shuffle.
Lenny
I thought he showed really promising cohesion with Bruno and Ramsey. The three of them put together a few really nice quick sequences.

Smal
Miley can play 10 and did most of his youth career. Still think it'll be his best position in the right system as well tbh. Such a good final ball and could score more goals too.

A playmaker that can play in the 10 but also fits in neatly elsewhere in a 4-3-3 as an 8 or wide player.
HawK
Miley is our closest, it's where he played in the youth teams and also for England youth.
