Let’s see.

I could see that being the thinking from Howe. Leeds away I think was an insight into how he will approach quite a few away games this season, especially since he has 4 CBs who all have a valid right to be starting. And with him clearly not sold on Miley starting games unless really forced, Joelinton shagged, it just makes being solid defensively and conceding the midfield battle (which we lost last time even with main guys) more likely.

Tino, Thiaw, Botman, Burn, Hall

Bruno G, Tonali, Willock

Murphy, Woltemade

That's what I could see happening where it's effectively a 5-4-1 (WIllock LM and Murphy RM) with both expected to support Wolt who will be tasked with holding up ball and linking attack. Could be proper ugly if it doesn't work though.

We're fucking shit against this lot. Can't see anything other than a defeat, sadly.

Don’t really subscribe to bogey teams. Think we have enough to beat them but the players are likely going to be fucked from last night. Surely we’ll see a lot of changes

Not having it. We can still put out a very good side, and we need to make our quality count in the same way Barcelona did against us.

Some of these lineups

Everyone is going for the TBG style today, it seems.

Other than forgetting Gordon was suspended still, I don't think is the out there. Highly unlikely Bruno is dropped, but after a gruelling international break, he needs a rest.

Joelinton is shite in a midfield 2 for a start and I just don’t think Howe likes wholesale changes too often if he can avoid it.

Tried that formation at Leeds with a fair bit of rotation and it was a disaster. Only really worked well a couple of times against Liverpool and Arsenal from memory. Everton and Leeds was shockingly bad.

It was actually more aimed at a couple of others. Where it seemed more like the team we’d put out against Bradford
