Anything for the 3pts today please.

I don't care if we have 3% possession just to piss Arteta off as long as we win.

I want the scummiest, flukiest, most undeserving win possible, dodgy ref decision and all, either that or we absolutely flatten them, either will do for maximum impact.

I'd be amazed if it wasn't a back 3 like.

I think it will be. But like I mentioned the other day. Our build up looks even worse than usual in that system and I’ve never seen us click in an attacking sense. Only glimpses v Arsenal in the league when we lost 1-0 and the cup game at SJP.

From memory (so apols if skewed) but started as a right back, sometimes played CB and ended up in midfield.

Just checked. Sounds about right:

I think he excelled at centre-back. Got his England call-up there too if I remember correctly. The day we beat Villa 2-0 at their place he was immense. Wonderful player. I had his name and number on the back of my blue Asics away shirt (Rob Lee on the home).

Loved Venison and Bracewell. Couple of originally Sunderland stalwarts who ended up loved by both fan bases. Doesn’t happen very often; Lee Clark going other way was fantastic for them, player of the season I think, but whole thing was somewhat tainted by the ending!

Like I said, I just don't see the goals there, but it does look defensively sound so hopefully we'll keep a clean sheet and only need the one.

Our main goal threats are playing though. Elanga and Barnes off bench

I was commenting on the starting line up posted tbf. But even with Barnes and Elanga in the equation, until I have seen it working the confidence is going to be less than it could be. There's hints of it gelling, it just hasn't quite happened yet.

Murph vs. Eze? Not against it, but he may need help.

Can’t really see us scoring, point wouldn’t be terrible.

Taken in isolation yes. The background is we have 6 points off five games going into this, which isn't great, but no need for panic stations regardless of what happens today. I would recommend switching off if any media prick tries to lump us in with under-pressure PL clubs, e.g. Man U. We just need a couple of things to click. Wissa might do it on his own.
