Really enjoyed the game. Both teams were committed and competitive. Shame about the late goal but a draw was probably fair.

Think we were slightly unlucky to draw but it’s class to be involved in these matches. We’re just not quite at the level where we can win them comfortably.

Yeah, if it's possible to look at it in a neutral sense, which of course it isn't, it was probably the best game we've been involved in this season.

It was painful to watch. Listening to the lass commentating was nauseating.

I usually listen to commentary via club app and watch the images (when I can) with sound down. The former was about 20 seconds ahead of the TV last night, easily corrected by pausing the comms for a bit, but I was so keen to know what was happening that I just lived with the gap.

Random thought but I bet that away end was absolute bedlam for Miley's goal. Would've been such an amazing moment if we could look back on it as a winner.

We were unlucky last night. Thought it at the time but that save from Thiaw's header really was pivotal.

Ah well. Still in our hands and qualification to the next stage, at the very least, seems odds on at this point. Fair play to the lads.

They do grate for the most part, but that one yesterday was reading the game pretty well.

I thought she made some decent comments when doing ‘to camera’ bits. The irritating thing for me was the way she and the bloke with her at the end had seemingly been told to keep smiling at the camera. So they both had these evidently fake grins plastered over their faces.

Commentary aside, I’m genuinely puzzled you found that “painful to watch”?

First half hour maybe, and to concede late on is obviously massively frustrating, but I thought our second half performance was really good, and if anything, quite exciting to watch.

West Ham and Brentford games would be my idea of painful to watch, and this performance was miles away from them.

Not even the first half hour, I thought we started well at least first six minutes or so.

Aye, was composed to start with without being threatening, but then it felt like it was running away from us after they scored. Got away with the red card situation (IMO) and managed to wrestle it back a bit after that.

Second half, much, much better.

I couldn't tolerate either the tone or the accent.

No different to when Carragher for example assaulting my ears. I look for alternative means wherever possible.

I watch football without any commentary. I know how the game works, I don't need some annoying divvies to talk me through it as I observe the match.

I watch it with the sound off whilst listening to DJ mixes of 120BPM techno recorded in a night club in Lithuania.

It's lovely combination.

Try it. You might like it.

Never get this complaint. It’s not like there’s loads of brilliant, insightful male co-commentators with beautiful voices out there.

I genuinely came into this thread to say how much I enjoyed her commentary [emoji38] Her line about Miles looking about 12 was great.

Although it does make me worried for Lewis if the mackems have another Adam Johnson in their midsts.

Yeah I agree, the problem with female commentators is they are often under-qualified and make daft comments (which some of the men do as well) and it feels like they've been appointed because they're female rather than because they are football experts, with an interesting opinion and the ability to translate that into commentary. I didn't get that at all from the woman last night, I thought she was good, more than happy to have her commentating on games. I guess it's personal preference though, I don't mind Carragher either.

Fine margins is a term used a lot these days but we’re a club defined by it at the moment. 15 seconds of madness combined over 2 CL games an we’re 3rd and likey as likely to auto qualify as you get. Some achievement for a squad that’s been gasping for new signings having dealt with a sucker punch from Alex Isak over the summer and constant upheaval in the club that has been no fault of the players.
