You are a great guy, but how you can say thats a perfect shoulder to shoulder tackle is beyond me.

All about opinions. That's the problem isn't it. The rules change within the same game let alone from week to week.

Glad that you've got your scapegoat anyway.

Your work is done.

If it was Gordon or Elanga I said this about there wouldn't be a peep.

The guy should have jumped with the wall and he didn't, and it's proved to be costly.

When I'm watching the game I don't only call out players that I don't like, like so many of you tend to do unfairly.

It's okay. Bruno will be fine and is still a fantastic player. He should have done better there though.

That is how shoulder charges occur. You cannot shoulder charge without that.

The clue is in the name to be fair. It shouldn't include other parts of the body.

Certainly the way I've understood it for the last 50+ years anyway.

Reckon A.N Other player gets the decision btw.

Is that in reference to me?

If so, that's rubbish.

I actualyl thought apart from missing his sitter Gordon was back to what he is capable of today.

Have you ever tried to shoulder barge anyone?

No,not at all

Gordon likely has a (rightful) rep of buying pens a bit and I think that will have factored in this afternoon.

It's clearly reckless, and could have injured Gordon. It's not your standard 50-50. He was clearly more interested in clattering Gordon at full speed.

This is the main point for me. He had no interest in the ball whatsoever and deliberately diverted towards Gordon. It was full speed, reckless, and while I haven't seen it back since half time, I'm pretty sure there were several points of contact below the shoulder.

I'm normally firmly in the "wouldn't want it given against us" camp on penalties, but for me this one was a stonewaller.

Then you will understand that your bodies naturally come together then..

Nope, a shoulder to shoulder literally shpuld be you using your strength in a side by side situation.  Literally no other parts of the body involved. That's the way I've always played and watched the game.

Chalobah steps across Gordon, clatters his hip/ thigh, uses excessive force and doesn’t lead with his shoulder. It’s a penalty, there’s Sheparding a ball out and then there’s a I’m not getting the ball  so I’ll have to make sure the other player doesn’t get to it. IMG_9822.jpeg.c7101cc7612a1559f4606f242285e8a8.jpeg

It is nigh on impossible to just use your shoulder ONLY in most shoulder barge situations like. Because you are naturally adjacent to one another to engage in one and then as a result when you engage your bodies naturally come together.

Shoulder challenges are legal and don't get penalised because they tend to be a 50/50 thing.

Running into someone at full speed with no intention of playing the ball, when they're looking to play the ball is not a fucking shoulder challenge.

It's an intentional foul.

People are really struggling with this. Shoulder to shoulder doesn’t mean it’s never a foul FFS. Look at his leg and all.

They’re most common between say a winger and fullback, running together down the line, genuinely competing for the ball. An actual 50/50 shoulder to shoulder. Not flying into someone as hard as you can with no intention of shielding or challenging for the ball.
