Played Man Utd off the park. Stop the negativity. Disappointing result but we were very good tonight.

We didn't play them off the park  they decided to sit back and defend their lead and did it at a relative canter, something we couldn't be accused of this season.

I would not call one good chance created in 90+ minutes against a Man U side missing their two best players and by the end half full of FM regens "very good", either.

It's basically ping the ball into the box and hope it goes in, otherwise we have absolutely no clue or vision.

Because we want to win it?

We already got that trophyless monkey of our back.

It's fine to go for it if we don't have Europe. But not something to prioritize when we have a packed schedule.

Nowhere near enough creative enough. Nowhere near enough good chances. Nowhere near enough quality. No clue how to play against a low block.

That was a SHITE Man Utd team too. Fucking awful.

If the Mackems finish above us, we’ll never live it down.

This fucking board when everything doesn't go Newcastles' way is something else.

Man utd ended up with a flat back six. It's a tall order to break that down. We played very well tonight.

We’ve been far worse than that this season tbf but it’s more a slow continuation of the same mistakes and flaws every week that seemingly aren’t in any danger of being sorted any time soon. We have so many insanely frustrating footballers in our side, it’s mental

If tonight is your bar of doing very well I'd fucking love to work for you, Rod.

Utterly bizarre take this. We created fuck all against a team that ceded possession for 45 minutes. A poor poor team they are too.

I don't agree with Rod saying we were 'very good' because clearly we weren't, but this isn't true either. It was easily the best we've played against a low block (against an extremely low bar) because we worked it into the box several times and got in behind down the left wing.

It's maddening because I think if we get the equaliser, I think most on here say we deserve it and it's a green shoot in terms of our away form.

The Barnes cut-back for Gordon is the one. Such a dreadful decision from the lad not to just either shoot or roll it into Wissa.

Played better than them, created more than them. Man Utd are not a poor team. We are having no luck at this moment in time. I'm a realist not a knicker wetter.

If the pen had been given (which was blatant) the result would have been different - in that we'd have gone on to win it.  Bet Sky don't question that.

I don’t know how else to explain it but we look heavy. Sluggish.

We used to play with a zip and a swagger, we seemed to have confidence in our ability to stick it away and see a game out. Now it’s just a lot of half baked ideas, blind alleys and balls to absolutely nobody. And that’s effecting their confidence in the basics - time and time and time again we see players misplacing a simple pass.

There’s a funk that’s set in that’s in serious danger of becoming a rut. It’s salvageable but we need some new faces, some fresh ideas and a bit of deadwood getting rid of.

If that’s your level for being satisfied then fair play.

You’re fucking mental. But fair play.

Their keeper didn’t have a save to make FFS.

We had plenty of chances. Players making the wrong decision cost us. That's why their goalkeeper didn't have a save to make. It was our ineptness in front of goal not Man Utds defending.
