Manchester United 1-0 Newcastle United (26/12/25) | post-match from pg. 54

That was a tough watch.

It's happened to often now to not be obvious that we have been figured out, atleast away from home.

Tonight exposed all our weaknesses. We lack creativity to break down a low block. We struggle against counter attack pace, we are poor at attacking from corners and we are good for conceding a goal currently, as Ramsdale isn't keeping any out that aren't straight at him. Think there is a reason most of his career has been in teams flirting relegation.

Really feels time to try something new from Howe atleast on the road because it's the same story over and over.

Hall was our only stand out.

Again losing patience with Gordon being ahead of Barnes all the time for left wing. Makes zero sense to me that we don't even try and switch Gordon over when we are struggling.

Rod's had a tipple too many, like.

I haven't actually. I was furious after the mackem defeat. Tonight I was just frustrated. We were by far the better team.

If the pen had been given (which was blatant) the result would have been different - in that we'd have gone on to win it.  Bet Sky don't question that.

Would have been the first time anyone's done that in 41 years.

Completely standard performance. Neither good nor bad, just meh, if this league season was a player it'd be Christian Bassedas. "Powderpuff" as the bloke next to me back then used to mutter.

Clear all season that we have an extremely blunt cutting edge. Its like missing Shearer for the first part of 97/98 and ploughing on with a striker, anything goals that do come feel like a bonus rather than inevitable.

Special thanks football powers that be, that was by far the shittest boxing days football since I got into football rounded off by a poor game in a non-atmosphere between the teams/clubs that typically produce something this time of year and without financial restraints probably would have again.

I think its the same at home really, labour to score we just manage to force enough to cover for it but it takes ys a lot of effort pressure and time to do what takes teams very little to do unto us.

That was frustrating. Team simply wasn't in synch at all.

First half i thought the main problem was our movement off the ball. It's like the players were hoping to get a breather when we had it instead of putting in the work to make themselves available for the pass. We got overrun by man utd.

Second half man utd gave us the initiative and defended deep. When our players made good runs, the ball carrier was too late to play the pass. When the pass was played quickly it was either mis-hit or the receiver didn't make the run (or ran in the opposite direction of the pass).

Unless we had equalized in the last few minutues I'm fairly sure man utd would have upped their game and won 2-1.

Dissapointing considering that we finally had some time to work on things we need to improve on, and it was very much the same as we've seen all season.
