Don't normally do these, but we all see games differently (why I love match threads):

Pope - 5.5 - Lucky with 2 shots he had no idea about. Probably match sharpness, but very lucky. Ramsdale would have been slated for the Burnley goal (unfairly). Hoping its match sharpness, as he's Eddie's preferred keeper. His last save was decent, though.
Hall - 7.5 - Brilliant.
Shar - 8 - My MotM. Saved Pope, and a lovely pass for the first.
Thiaw - 7 - Solid. Had to be.
Miley - 7.5 - Tidy and composed.
Gordon - 6 - Great assist, but missed a sitter and was ineffective. He did run and run, though. Still doing the silly dives.
Joelinton - 6.5 - Slow and piss-poor passing. Surprisingly weak on the ball. Got a great goal, though. Hard to score him.
Bruno - 7.5 - Slow and poor passing at times. But tried to drive the midfield, and got the 3rd when others were dead on their feet. Extra 0.5 for being an awesome NUFC captain.
Tonali - 5.5 - Slower and pissier-poorer passing. I swear he needs contacts. His depth perception is shot to shit.
Barnes - 6.5 - Criminal how many times he was ignored.
Wissa - 7 - Got a goal, looked sharp, but missed a sitter, too. Bypassed 2nd half.

I thought Bruno was really poor today tbh

Not sure about being clearly the better team. Took our goals well is the best I’d say.

Over the full 90 we were the better team for me. They were on top in the second half until the subs, from about 70 minutes they didn't really create much.

And for the stat nerds: 20 shots to 15, 5 "big chances" to 2, 2xg to 1xg.

We did enough to win the game IMO.

In that second half up until the 70th minute, we where absolutely diabolical, truly and utterly turd, Burnley could have scored several, but weirdly from that 70th minute point we actually saw that out pretty comfortably and professionally. Three points is all that really matters, so meh, and we now go into two very winnable home games with a slight spring in our step,  win them both and we'll be in a much better position, big IF mind.

I still maintain our biggest issue this season is the lack of a killer goal, in previous seasons, after the start we had, we'd win that 4/5-0, but we spurned so many big chances to kill that game, on another day we score 7, Wissa's header, Barnes 1-on-1, Gordons fluffed chance, Murphy's open goal (this was offside granted) and we just don't take them, its infuriating. Then when we have pressure put on us, we panic,  sit deeper and deeper, and just invite the opposition onto us, and at present, we just don't have the technical players to deal with it so we pump it long, and the cycle repeats itself.

The lateness of Howes subs initially annoyed me today, but then I remembered we have a game every 3/4 days until the 12th Feburary, and we had 4 kids on the bench. Tonali's form is a worry as well, he looks knackered, and he seems to be making a lot of errors he wasn't previously, if he wasn't filling in at RB, i'd say Miley should be playing in that position for the next little while, so he can rest, but we don't have that luxury.

Frustrating game in some regards, positive in other, the 3 points on the road is all that matter, and its good to get an away win. We're somehow only 4 points behind Chelsea, mental

Much needed 3 points. A draw wouldn't have been an unfair result.

Burnley really lacked quality apart from their goal which was really well taken.

Another troubling performance tbh.

Definitely some concerning signs again there where we just completely lose the initiative and control of the game and don’t look like we know how to wrestle it back.

Still I think Howe and the players needed that for confidence and god knows we might even go on a string some results together 😂

Two home league wins in a row and we might be sitting in the top 5 haha

Constantly give the ball away under no pressure, putting pressure on ourselves.

He's not good enough any more overall.

Tonight? I think you're mistaken.

The idea that we have one of the best midfields in the league is frankly laughable right now. It actually looks like we need almost an entire midfield. Their inabilty to keep possesion in the middle of the park is absolutely tragic and is the source of most of our problems IMO. Meanwhile all of our wingers are second rate and need upgrading.

A good team would have despatched us tonight.

Not a vintage performance, but deserved winners overall.

We cause ourselves so many issues by being completely unable to keep the ball. I know folk say we need more technical players (which is true), but it's absolutely inexcusable that players like Bruno, Tonali and Gordon are unable to execute a basic pass.

We do lack the ability to keep the ball but it's not because of the individual midfielders we have IMO. Tonali (although in bad form) and Bruno I'm sure could pop the ball around all day if the team was drilled in that way. Gordon has played for England at every level, all our defenders are technically sound.

It's a strange one, at the moment I think confidence is really exacerbating our issues.
