Feel like this is always a rank match, even going all the way back to the '90s.

Aye the best matches between us always seem to be at Elland Road. Think this will be another match not all that pleasing on the eye.

Remember back in the 80s we drew Leeds at home in the League Cup midweek. Mate had been going to U19 nets at Yorkshire which were on the evening of the cup match. To make sure he could go he got someone to twat him on the back of his hand with a plank of wood. Split his knuckle so couldn’t bat - made the match. Knuckle still in 2 bits.

I think we got dicked.

This was the team the first time I attended a Newcastle-Leeds fixture.

Given, Hughes (Ketsbaia, 86), Pistone, Batty, Howey, Pearce, Lee, Gillespie (Albert, 86), Speed, Andersson, Shearer.

Ketsbaia scored within a minute of coming on.

Straight at Nigel Martyn that went under him?

My love affair with Newcastle started at St James park v Leeds 97 we won 3-0! Hope for a repeat win.

New Years Day in 1997.  We were excellent that day just after the spurs 7-1 game as well.

Fancy these to come and have a go at us, consequently we'll smash them. Giving someone a hiding is near, why not these cunts. 4-0.

You reckon? I really hope Farke is that stupid, will make our job a lot easier.

I think they'll come with a spoiler attitude and try to replicate the mackem MO.

Will be a tough game but hopefully we can build momentum and take these. I don't think they will give much away and I like that Stach. DCL always seems to be a nuisance against us to.

I don't think Eddie will change too much despite so many games in a short space of time with the FA Cup coming up, that is where I see him making a few changes.

And saved Howe’s job in the process?

Hopefully their fans will wake a few of ours from their slumber.

Fucken no chance.

90% of the ground just go to twist and moan at every missed placed pass.

Can't interfere with their day/night out with actual singing and supporting the team now can you?

Should triumph once again prove so coy as to withhold itself from Eddie Howe in this forthcoming contest, it would be entirely reasonable to conclude that we are not merely observing ninety minutes of association football, but rather bearing witness to the slow unfurling of a managerial epilogue. In such a moment, the immutable hand of destiny, long patient yet ultimately unsparing, may be seen to draw the velvet curtain on his tenure, guiding him with a courteous but unmistakable firmness toward the side door of history.
