[LCSF 2nd leg] Manchester City vs. Newcastle United (2-0 agg.): 4/2/26 @ 20:00 (Sky Sports)

Football, and other spectator sports, is all about overcoming hurdles, and the excitement at the possibility of winning. And while it's highly unlikely we'll go to City's place and overturn the 0-2...we have to believe it's possible. Otherwise, what's the point in supporting?

Again, history and current facts show it's unlikely, but I want to be watching if we DO overcome this deficit. It would be epic! And that's "the point" for me.

Last year's cup final was against arguably one of the best teams in the world (at the time). And we fucking wrecked them! :snod:

Overturn a 2-0 advantage to city on their home turf? Not likely.

Rest the main players and put the second string out. Rotation 100%

Would rather if we were gonna do this do it against Qarabag twice, should have more than enough for them and we likely aren't gonna win the champions league

We are a game away from Wembley again, albeit a very difficult game.

Not often I feel this meh about a game. Got quite fed up after the Liverpool game. Not because we lost, but because it was the same collapse, the same soft goals, the same away performance. Another away game, so I expect the same drivel.

A combination of the first leg result, a bit of football over saturation, some disappointing League results and feeling a bit shit with a cold has left me very not bothered by this game. I'll head to bed early and hope to wake up to a good result.

I think you're more than once removed mate. Cue the chorus of "where were you when we were shiiite??"

I already copped some flak for describing this as a essentially a dead rubber, but I still watch every game I can. Just to see who performs, how we set up, any clues for the direction we might go in future based on the performance and so on. When you've watched as many shite Newcastle sides as I have down the years these days are pretty decent even if the chances of a result are unlikely.

Doesn't matter what side we put out the chances of doing that are remote in the extreme. I just think the coming PL games are more important if we want to still have some chance of getting back in the UCL reckoning. Although I suppose you could argue that's more or less gone as well.

Can write off the FA Cup now too after that draw and we'll face a tough team if we somehow get past Qarabag in the CL. It's over.

Still have a solid chance in the FA cup, Villa are hurting.

2-0 down in a second leg against Man City is a bit different to starting 0-0 against anyone else like.

We gave ourselves little chance against Arsenal over 2 legs last season…..

There’s always the chance, with this team, slim though it may be (chance not team…), that we  could be about to witness a great night in the history of NUFC.

Being realistic what should we expect tonight?

They were beaten 2-0 at home by  Spurs and by Leverkusen; let’s go one better 😉

Just need the first goal. Tough task but not impossible and we could do with City thinking it's already in the bag.
